And we plan on keeping it that way.
Lets ignore the multiple, some government funded, programs trying to make contact.
You don't know that. If we're having aliens, we're going all out with death rays and shit.
He's obviously talking about the path not taken.
We are running out of things to kill on earth, that's why.
Humans are not naturally killers. Where the fuck did that come from? We could be the most peaceful race in comparison to others. We have no way of knowing. Stop saying that stupid ass bullshit.
Suddenly I have this feeling that you are taking this a lot more seriously then you should be
Naw just the whole "hurfdurf hoomans r bad and we kill and war hurrdurrdurr" thing is a serious pet peeve to me.

looks like we have a xenos symphatizer aide! fetch me my bolt pistol.
Batarians suk butt
Aww... :saddowns:

we also glorify violence through our everyday entertainment media. even if we weren't naturally warlike, we still like killing very, VERY much, and if some alien species that we'd have the slightest chance of defeating came here to mess with us - peacefully or violently - i'm sure we'd gladly shoot, punch, claw and bite them in the face. especially if they were ugly. and after killing them the next logical thing would be seeing if they're edible this thread turned VERY philosophical
joazzz's perskin is really tall (real talk tho) [t]http://i.imgur.com/N2kpfSV.jpg[/t]

Notice that in most cultures, even our own, violence tends to be ritualised and while it does sometimes result in dead, this is usually secondary. It's about a show of force to an extent and not about annihilating the other party. That whole concept is new. Hell the concept of total warfare is often accredited to Ceasar in some ways and generally speaking, the only place where it's been practised for much of history has been Europe and middle east. There's not a lot of species on Earth that can actually do preventive violence. Humans are the perfect example. Another example are crows I think.
no fuck that humans are literally Orks counter arguments will not be accepted
joazzz's perskin is really tall (real talk tho) [t]http://i.imgur.com/N2kpfSV.jpg[/t]
Space Marines tend to be huge however i overdid that one's size on purpose. i call it "Grimdark" scaling. Wraith's marines are more reasonable-sized in fact i don't think my skin was that huge when i last posed it. something's wrong here
You are aware of the fact that humans are an omnivorous, pack based, predator species right?
You are aware of the fact that the universe is infinite and there are most likely things we can't even begin to conceive of, things that could be far worse than we ever could be. We base our perception of ourselves and other creatures with the incredibly small amount of knowledge we have. My point is, there could be planets that had life that evolved WAY differently than we did. We have no basis for comparison. We cannot say "humans are evil" because we have no way of proving that in any way when you consider the infinite possibilities of the universe. On an earthside view, yeah humans are dicks, but on a galactic or universal level, we don't know.
Has this turned into a E.T. discussion thread?
Yes.
obligatory colonel quaritch delivering the #realtalk [t]http://uppix.net/nWd03U.png[/t] but now that i read it i think it would fit more with a discussion about Avatar than a general xeno talk
Doesn't really dismiss the point that as a species, we are killing machines, we always have been.
Yeah, to our own kind and our own planet. We're talking extra-terrestrial here. Which I did say in my post.
Doesn't really dismiss the point that as a species, we are killing machines, we always have been.
Nooo, something like a Crocodile is a killing machine, we didn't evolve inherently to kill other creatures. Compare biological traits of a few animals with humans and you'll see how quickly that doesn't hold up.

Speaking of skins Minimole, I'm not sure if anyone else remembers this but a long time ago I think it was frost or someone basically said to mini that nobody would identify that ellis skin as him and would always be seen as Ellis. Not sure if anyone else feels the same way but to be honest I think of Minimole first thing now instead of Ellis, the power of determination. [sp]also i havent seen frozen is it good[/sp]
[sp]also i havent seen frozen is it good[/sp]
eh it's just a Disney musical thing, people including myself sperged out over it for no rhyme or raisin 9.6/10 it's "okay"
