It's really nice, but you really gotta start working with some other color combos man. Blue and orange has just become so stale.
Oh and I just realized that what I thought were rockets being fired from the airplane are actually tracers. The smoke trails shouldn't be quite so bright and gray, they should pick up the colors around them.
Amazing!!! Awesome movie as well. The only thing that bothers me, is the shooting Thunderbolt to the left. Is it too big in common to the alien-machines? (notice the angle of the Thunderbolt) Or is it just me. Still awesome, good job

But yeah agreed on the colours. I too am getting tired of the same old bullshit.
Is it too big in common to the alien-machines?
Nope, the tripods just aren't 300m tall monstrosities like in the Spielberg movie. Wells' version was much smaller.

Yup.
a 1953 film
and yeah, the martians in this film are still so damn scary

Yeah I remember that one, wasn't just sure which film he meant. So many people nowadays think that the 2005 version is the only and the best one in existence.
dat jagged tree
Valve should update their translucensy shaders (not gonna happen lol). $Alphatest is nothing but a big bunch of crap because of the aliasing it causes.
There are i think call of duty, dark messiah, and stalker. These 3 have nice trees you can always use instead of regular hl2 stuff imo
Won't really solve the jagged edges and aliasing though. Everything looks worse in Source.
You can fix those jagged edges in gimp, easily.
This is amazing and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Awesome screenshot. Best editing job I have ever seen.

By blurring them beyond recognition?

i fixed the jaggies for you :V
Blurring is not a good idea. Redraw the edges, instead.
