Ok, long story short: pretty much every source game was updating and now that they're done I can't use gmod.
It just won't start, I tried restarting steam, deleting clientregistery.blob, etc.
Is anyone else having this problem? :saddowns:

I HAD that problem. After I took a trip to America to see my parents who immigrated there for a week, get my fucking truck broken into before I even exited the airport, and a week of shit, I come back, Source games get updated with graphics, CSS gets a Killer Cam, and Garrysmod wouldn't even start. I had to actually delete EVERYTHING Steam and just reinstall it all again.
Eh, it is actually worth it. After a while, my steam wouldn't even load ethier.
I hadn't played GMod in quite a while, and it worked fine. I've been playing a lot of other Source games recently, so maybe that's the problem. Try running stuff like CS:S or TF2, providing you have them. That might help you.

Engine update broke your Gmod. Remove all your Source GCF files and redownload, it's caused by a file corruption from a lagspike, similar to downloading a .rar and having it finish halfway. If this doesn't work, try removing all orange box engine files (HL2:Ep2, TF2, etc.).
If the above doesn't work, a complete wipe of Steam files is necessary.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather try the more harmless options before I reinstall something.
I didn't ignore anyone, I'm just being careful and making sure I don't do something when there's an easier way to fix it. :wink:
