Here's something you people might want to consider. DasBoSchitt made a video called Treat or Else, it's a mix of COMEDY and horror. Horror isn't necessarily the thing that stood out to his audience, it was the comedy. It's all about knowing how to blend the themes together. I actually had to force myself to watch this video just to see why it had so many replies. People want to laugh, and this video wasn't that quick to deliver humor. Heck, sometimes the attempts to make me laugh just plain out failed.

Kurit's review was awful, it wasn't constructive at all, I took criticism from the two other reviews and I think everyone else did fine because those were bloody damn good reviews who showed more than just pessimism and told us how we could improve. I would outright cancel episode 2 if it weren't for how many videos it has already had given to me, unless everyone who has made a video is fine with uploading it to their own youtube whilst I get the whole plan idea down.
Right now I want to make it a comedy short series with lots of shorts submitted by a ton of different people but set within a certain theme. Whilst the DasBoSchitt video you mentioned honestly wasn't a good example at blending genres together well I see what you mean.
Here's my current idea;
Everyone who has created a short for episode 2 or beyond can upload their short to youtube right now so they haven't wasted all their time on these shorts. There will be a deadline of 2/3 weeks once the theme is announced and if your video is funny and follows the rules fine it'll be in. Current ideas for themes are; Sci-Fi, Horror, Surreal, Deadpan and Apocalyptic(Post or otherwise).
If everyone likes this idea I will go ahead with it and get this thing back on track, however I do feel slightly disrespectful for just completely dropping the current shorts I have in favour of this idea and I apologise for that. It'll be much more fun to make this way and I think alot more people would enjoy it.

Comedy Short Series are always done, ALWAYS. Cant we do something different ? Horror Series? Action Series? All of a sudden everyone just wants humor, not only that, but the most popular humor always gets the attention of 12 year olds, and honestly I like to target a more mature and understanding audience. I dont think the mature audience really wants another Idiots of Garrysmod. Correct me if im wrong.

We can do humour that isn't just a copy of those shows. Just look at Ultrahouse and They are Watermelons. Both fantastic shows made in gmod that are hilarious but different.

There has been a great deal of immature name calling amongst the members in this thread. As pointed out, Fumples comment among many are the accusations I've received for giving a normal review. Further more, I want you to tell me how my criticism is "One sided" if I was biased I woulden't have said Fumple's video was good, he's the most immature person here.

You say my review wasn't constructive however your accusation lacks any examples. I told you to spend more time on it, many of your mistakes can be fixed if you just spend more time on it. You're expecting I give a ton of examples for such a short pointless video. At this time, there's not much else I can say, I told you it doesn't deserve a review. Regarding the humour / quality of the shorts, I think that the video having humour should be completely optional. Why? People who want to try making a serious gmod film should get the chance to do that! For the quality, unless it's 2 second shit it should be accepted. The whole point of this project is for people to get their name out there in a fun and interesting way! If they have lower quality videos, so what? They'll get criticized for it wherever, and will try and get better ratings on their next video! It's like Ninja Warrior. If you fail the first season, try again the next!

I agree with this statement. There's also the fact that there's an absurd amount of GMod comedy machinima, and a comparatively tiny amount of serious stuff, probably because it's harder to do. So it would make sense to allow those serious shorts in because it's a distinguishing feature, it's something different and more likely to be original.

I began making one and my brother didn't realize it was horror and he jumped so much LOL... I used binaural tones and such to artificially heighten the viewer's sense of tension, it was really cool
