As for combat, it doesn't compare. Homecoming wasn't scary and that's the only problem I had with it. As for gameplay I must say, Homecoming is more of a challenge to kill things, sure there wasn't as many weapons but the battle damage was awesome. You can actually gore monsters in this one with finishers and the bosses are much more fun to fight. For example, the split worm in SIlent Hill three just stands there and dies when you use the flamethrower on it, big challenge. When I play a game, I play it for the actual gameplay aspects, meaning I actually play it to enjoy playing it, not following a broken story. Silent Hill is far from being focused on the combat, so just because Homecoming had a better combat system does not make the whole game better. Homecoming might have somewhat better gameplay and graphics but everything else is much better in the previous games.

I play Homecoming for what it is, a survival horror. Mabey you play it for the story but I play for what it is, a video game. If i want a story I'lll read a book.

Shattered Memories was the best Silent Hill game as of recent. Just sayin'.

Silent hill 2 still holds (and will always) a place in my heart.

Hmm I didn't like Sh3 because it was to hard to control on the pc sadly. I only played SH:H And beat it with out any help. I'm going to say it's good but that's just my opinion. I still need to go out and buy the 1st and 2nd to try them out.

I still say their needs to be a silent hill and Heavy rain cross-over.
