You know, if someone keep coming to my threads repeating in an agressive way some methods, I won't give a single fuck while I'll more likely listen to calm and nice people. The only place it actually works would be the army, I'm not in any fucking army.

This right here is why I likened the two high-n'-mighty gmod artists to competitive gamers. It's cool, you take it a little more seriously than others, if that's how you have your fun, whatever. But no one likes you when you think everyone needs to take it super serious, and in your rants about the casual crowd's skills not being quite up to snuff all you do is make yourself look more pompous than you actually deserve to be.

Just because something isn't 'bad' (a very arbitrary term), doesn't mean there's no room for improvement.
There's room for improvement, yes.
No one benefits from someone calling all the people who liked their work a bunch of idiots though. That's not how you facilitate improvement.

5omeone calls people idiots regardless and always has, if people were less inclined to throw a shitfit every time they saw him post and just ran with it this would happen a lot less. At the end of the day he still gives legit criticism, people just need to learn to either ignore the attitude or adapt to it.
I don't throw a tantrum when someone calls me an idiot then tells me what I did wrong. It makes a lot more sense and it means a lot less of this bullshit goes down. Of course, I pay about as much attention to insults as the average cement rendered wall (down to work, again), whereas a good deal of FP posters seem really oversensitive like they were babied all the way through their lives and have only recently been exposed to them.

the spy's cloak effect, along with a plethora of fancy shaders used either in hl2 or the old source stress test, will result in a visibly 3d distortion (like what 5omeone was suggesting). to get a flat distortion like this, you'd have to have either a 2d model with the shader applied or you'd need to do it via photoshop. if someone's written a custom shader that can produce this effect without the 3d element, i've yet to see it.
