He's not over using it. I back ross completely. People can in fact learn without you going in and showing them what to do. In fact, that is the [I]best[/I] way to learn, because then you get to evolve your own style. If somebody goes and tells you what to do and how to do it, you won't have a chance to figure out how to do it in a different or possibly even better way than what they would have shown you.
I myself have never looked at a tutorial, and I've barely gotten any criticism that tells me how to fix something, and look where it got me.

As for the second one, yea, overly contrasted and too blue.

im not saying hes helpless, i have more faith in people than to make an observation like that, im saying on behalf of your own usefulness to be more efficient with the way you judge someone's work. Your own personal experience with a tutorial does not exclude everyone from finding use in one. I myself have learned a lot this year from tutorials. To disregard a tutorial is like giving up. Its better to learn from professional examples then to learn from the members of facepunch. I also disagree with your given criticism but i will save that for when i have a computer avaliable.

The FF are very detailed, more detailed than the source models. The reason they take up so much space is simply due to this fact. In comparison, the quaility of everything made is high poly, yes and has a higher resolution(Which is a good thing.) I have yet to have a problem working with these models in any way, neither do I think the same quaility work can be released and be compared with the quaility of his models and textures.
If I'm correct, his name is illuminati on other websites and his modeling work is unmatched to the modelers in this community. I also doubt that he would steel or have any reason to steel someone elses work.(Not counting the use of Valve Characters.)
Basicly saying: No Ross, just no.
Fake Factory is just special, can't really say it's bad or good, it's up to people's tastes to decide. But nobody can deny he did a fantastic job on the maps and their textures.
