Claiming land for myself and Alsojames with GLC - The Great Lakes Coalition. Intro and lore coming soon... [t]http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2015/046/8/0/map_with_glc_by_antimingebag-d8i5ijl.png[/t]
I call dibs on Cali.
Very very cool, I'll throw my hat in. Maybe tonight if I have time, gonna occupy most~ of Florida.
This looks pretty cool. What exactly would I need to do to join this?

Your community can be anything though, it can be a community of bandits, traders, a little town trying to survive mostly whatever you can think of, except a 1 character deal. We are mainly focused on rising nations though, the earth is slowly going out of the anarchy it is in with more and more civilized communities build their nations and draw their borders. Also more stuff. MAP UPDATED [t]http://a.pomf.se/dcwmye.png[/t] [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] *Added -Albino -The Magadanskaya oblast Reich -FT -The Cursed and Forgotten -Infab -The Southern Union of Federated States [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] Also I don't have a problem adding you to the map but sometimes it would be good for more specific details about whatever your turf is shaped like and what real life locations are in it. [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] Or better yet if you want to add yourself and your territory to the map then that would be even better, since my geography and mspaint skills only go so far.
Alright, would it be plausible to claim an area and state my faction for the moment, and then state the rest like lore and models when I get them fleshed out?
everybody else is doing it, then so can you. Just a FYI for everyone, if you claim land and actually never appear with a intro unless you got a good reason your dibs on your territory wont hold.
Here's the lore BEAR was talking aboot. The Great Lakes Coalition [GLC] [t]http://s017.radikal.ru/i409/1502/31/a8bbb5384ca1.jpg[/t] Area: A circle of land around the Great Lakes, encompassing locations in both Canada and America.] Government Type: Democratic Syndicalism Governing Body: Great Lakes Republican Body Lore: After the bombs hit and the governments collapsed, society in the north fragmented into a large collection of city-states and tribes of bandits and mutants. Among the most well known groups of factions were those in the great lakes area, occupying space in in the northern U.S. and southern Canada. While individually large in comparison to many other groups found in the north, they were mostly independent and at risk of attack from mutants and larger raider groups, especially for those around lakes Erie, Michigan and Ontario. This need for defence led to the early Great Lakes Republic, a gathering of tribes from the areas most at-risk. The remaining tribes, situated around lakes Huron and Superior, suddenly found themselves under increased attack, as hostile groups of bandits and mutants migrated north, away from their now united former targets. By 2035, societies from Superior and Huron had joined the Republic, newly christened the Great Lakes Coalition. Its policy of giving workers full ownership of their own land and industry makes micromanagement much simpler, as most people are willing to "donate" food to the armies and governing groups in exchange for defence. Ultimately, the GLC focuses mostly on protecting its own, though specialized Rangers are regularly sent out to discover other people to recruit and/or trade with. Regular incursions from ever-present bandits and mutants keep the military (GLMB; "Great Lakes Militant Body", abbreviated "G-Limb" or simply "Limb" in speech) constantly on their toes. I would like to claim the Southern Tip of Japan (the island of Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands up to Okinawa, and possibly some or all of the Shikoku Island as well if no-one else wants part of it) as "The Southern Japanese-American Alliance". I am currently writing lore, shall attempt to produce models when I can as well so shouldn't be long until I make a proper intro post thx babe
everybody else is doing it, then so can you. Just a FYI for everyone, if you claim land and actually never appear with a intro unless you got a good reason your dibs on your territory wont hold.
Alright, in that case I will claim Newfoundland and Labrador under the faction "Grand Newfoundland Republican Society" I'll post lore and models and such when I get them done.
I'll spit out some lore for ~the Southern Union of Federated States~ in a few mins. Gotta find some models to use. [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] Here's a map for those claiming US states as territories. Prob would be much easier to organize your stuff compared to the larger map. [Img_thumb]http://i.solidfiles.net/f04da49189.png[/Img_thumb] Marked my place on the map and will start posting screenshots as soon as my Gmod finishes updating.
(I hope this is an acceptable entry, I just discovered the thread and I'm sorta getting started) [t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/543018300846424126/D606DF6CD08487260B3A0FCBF028A3AB0BBA0004/[/t] Name:The Children of Destiny Location:between Mexico and The United States Lore: "after the bombs fell in 2015, a new founded religious group recruited survivors from the affected regions of northern Mexico and the southern United States. this religious group does not see the events after the bombs fell as dangerous, or absolutely hopeless. they saw the events that transpired as a sign of a new god emerging from the wasteland, even going far as worshiping the many oddities of the fallout.in 2018, they sought to control Las Vegas to further their religious goals and to sacrifice all sinners to their new found gods, but they were driven back by local forces. it is now 2038 and they seek to rid the current world of all the sinners and accept new members." (I will reskin the silent hill dudes if I need to, I haven't decided if there will be a leader of the faction yet.)
[img_thumb]http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2015/046/4/b/f04da49189_by_kokyal0rd-d8i69kn.png[/img_thumb] I added my place on the map, and i'm also currently making the models for them which will be done soon, then it's onto lore.
Since everyone's posting their lore without having any pics ready, I thought I might post mine as well. Name: The Cursed and Forgotten. Location:California, parts of Oregon and Nevada. Lore: I'm re-using COTEP/COG, but this time it's with a twist. In summary, after the zones started to appear in America, several started to grow into Children of God territory, one even swallowing up their holy city. The ground started to re-shape itself, the wildlife became twisted and mutated, and the laws of physics became defiled and corrupt as strange anomalies came forth from the air. However, something else had also happened. Something had snatched all the androsynths, and nobody knows where they went... This left the human followers of COG without any leadership, and without anyone to teach or aid them. They have since banded together to survive in an increasingly hostile desert wasteland where mutants, radiation, and bandits threaten their existence. But the question still remains: Where did all the androsynth go? What happened to the actual androsynths, you ask? Nothing good. They all mysteriously vanished, as if something snatched all of them at once. Except throughout the Mojave, wild mutants have emerged from the forests and plains, and are attacking any living thing they see. These mutants are basically what became of the old COG. 1. Nephilim - Regular COG cultist androsnyths that got turned into raging, rabid mutants that attack anything on sight. 2. Warlocks - COG Firstborns that also got turned into mutants, except these ones have tentacles and tendrils growing out of them, some of which can breathe fire. 3. Brutes - COG Barons that were warped. Basically, mutant demonic gorillas. tl;dr cotep/cog cultists got turned into mutants and any human members of their church have banded together to survive in an increasingly hostile post-apocalyptic southwestern america. Mutants are NPCs, btw. They aren't part of my faction. They're just monsters that can be found in the area.

And here's that lore post. Now going to start trying to set up models for proper intro circa soon. Name: The Southern Japanese-American Alliance (SJAA) Location: Southern Japan (Ryukyu Islands & Kyushu Island) Government: Democratic Flag: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51118976/SJAA-Flag.png[/t] Lore: The Southern Japanese-American Alliance (SJAA) is a post-war mutual defense pact between surviving members of the Japanese Government and Japanese Self Defense Forces located on Kyushu and the Ryukyu islands, and US military elements that have not returned to the US. The Military are primarily headquartered in Sasebo Naval Base, commanded by surviving Japanese and US command elements, though are slowly attempting to move further south due to Sasebo's location on the skirts of the local ZOA. Okinawa island is the civilian "capital" and primary center of the civilian population. Though the SJAA combat looters and bandits, their primary adversary is the ZOA that has covered much of Kyushu, and the terrors it may spawn. The ZOA has spread forces particularly thin on Kyushu, which is considered a no-mans land by the civilian side of the SJAA and a warzone by the military. The SJAA is open to trading and alliances with neighbouring factions, especially those that can provide aid and supplies to the slowly dwindling civilian population. Much of the government and military expense is currently being used in the Military move from Sasebo, and setting up a new formal defense line against the ZOA. Yeah, models soon.
Name: The Southern Union of Federated States Location(s): The southeastern portion of the former United States. Consists of Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Form of Government: Capitalist Democracy Capital City: Birmingham, Alabama Flag: Lore: After the collapse of the United States government (and the United States itself), most of the former southeastern states were left to fall into chaos and turmoil. This did not happen as expected, though. The states of Alabama, Mississippi, and (what was left of) Georgia banded together and founded the new Southern Union of Federated States in the year 2024. Other states would join the Union, starting with Louisiana and Tennessee in 2028. They would prove critical to boosting the Union's economy. Louisiana's ports, especially New Orleans, would allow more trade and possible alliances with other nations of the world. Tennessee's textiles, cattle, and cotton proved extremely useful to the citizens of the Union. Arkansas joined in the year 2030, providing another boost to the Union's economy as it flooded the market with more food products and machinery. As the citizens of the Union pushed west and northward, some decided to venture eastward up the coast. Right into the heart of the nearby zone area of eastern Georgia and North/South Carolina. Most of the area was explored by the year 2035, and the Union claimed the former states as sovereign territory. Mutants and such still roam the area, but are for the most part contained by Union military forces. Now into the year 2038, the Union begins to push westward, eyeing the chance to claim the former state of Texas.
Updated map to include the Glorious Japanese Empire. [t]http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/845c9f2ff125.png[/t] We will rebuild. We will rebuild.
Didn't Taggart claim Southern Japan?
Yeah, but CK claimed on the first page. What to do????
Infab was a little too generous when giving GLC their territories )). Cleaned it up a bit. Also, we don't control the opposite coasts of lakes Ontario,Erie and Superior. Not much in terms of "fleet" there. Only cargo ships and yachts. Much easier to control the inner coasts from any potential invaders. [t]http://s019.radikal.ru/i609/1502/1f/cbab83604028.png[/t] Also just for kicks made a map of hazardous zones (lay this over the regular map when claiming territory to help you figure out what's where) [t]http://s57.radikal.ru/i155/1502/a0/dc7c24ac2893.png[/t] [editline]1[/editline] Fort83 joined the GLC. Damn I'm glad we took a bigger chunk xD. Three people for one small faction would be too much.
I feel like that zone of alienation in Southern Japan could be a natural, hellish, god forsaken nightmare DMZ that seperates CK's faction and Taggart's faction. Rick and Jenkins are gone so I can't consult them, but maybe Crazy and Taggart could come to a compromise in the mean time.
Yeah, but CK claimed on the first page. What to do????
uh oh Uh Oh. We got ourselves a territorial dispute this is gonna be like North and South Korea all over again. I begin with proposing a diplomatic solution. Taggart must retreat to the sea and live with the dolphins.
I begin with proposing a diplomatic solution. Taggart must retreat to the sea and live with the dolphins.
Unfortunately the citizens and soldiers of the SJAA are not mermaids or mermen. This outcome is... unfavorable.
