oh god man that's some deep shit right there
depth hud's speedo is off by like 25%.
Yeah, depth hud assumes 1 unit = 1 inch, when 1 unit actually = 0.75 inches. The wire speedometer converts correctly.
Ha, i can manage 68mph, but i have to brake hard for corners and my acceleration isn't fantastic. As to sever location. I really don't think my rig would take it, least of all my ancient internet connection that maxes out at 2 mb/s. I know its a bit much to ask, but is anyone else in a better position to be able to host?
Yeah, depth hud assumes 1 unit = 1 inch, when 1 unit actually = 0.75 inches. The wire speedometer converts correctly.
no 1 unit is 1 inch. unless you're talking about how to keep things correctly scaled to the fov when mapping. all objects work with the 1 unit = 0.75 inch. but when measuring distances and stuff within source games 1 unit is 1 inch. also, you're blowing smoke when you're saying wire speedometer converts anything correctly. it doesn't convert anything, it just measures. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] if you would just work of the scale that the fov and player view work with then everyone would be 1.2 meters tall... i don't know about you but i can't see everyone in hl2 being midgets...

Am I wrong?

It looks like a hotrod conversion from an old-school ford. I really like it.
But neither kilometers nor miles are standard units in source, so it has to convert between them and source units. Am I wrong?
yeah of course it does that conversion, (kind of obvious...) but what i meant was that it doesn't convert the units to 0.75 or anything. all it does is do 1 unit ~0.000025 km or ~0.000016 miles.

I'm interested in this race. When is it going to happen and what server?

Player sprint speed is 500 u/sec which is 37.879 MPH. If you don't account for 1 unit = 0.75 inches you incorrectly calculate it to be 28.409 MPH. I'm going to guess that Depth Hud rounds the value somewhere to make it come to 30 instead of 28, but either way it is wrong as it doesn't multiply your speed by 4/3 to convert from units to inches (1 unit = 3/4 inches so 1 inch = 4/3 units). Fucking automerge :argh:
@name @outputs Units MPH @persist E:entity if(first()) { E = owner() runOnTick(1) } Units = E:vel():length() Inches = Units * (4/3) # 1 unit = 0.75 inches so 1 inch = 1 and a third units MPH = 3600 * Inches / 63360 # 3600 seconds in an hour, 63360 inches in a mile
See for yourself.
Tested the jeep. Some things do correspond with depth hud. I have no idea. I'm fairly sure reverse doesn't
