Thats why its good to post your shit in here so people could help you fix it. Does it look better now? Height ratios for roof portion and lower portion are now 1:1 I think.
horrendous
Ditch the PHX2 flats and you're good to go.
Well I was using a better looking console, but it failed to dupe so I went for a quick solution and used the PHX plate instead so I could quickly get into space and test my system. Then again, I suck at making things pretty so I spend time on functionality instead of looks when I play Gmod :D [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] It's PHX3 btw :v:

I'd say slant the upper sides inwards and maybe bring them in more. The whole windshield area feels quite a bit too wide. Also remove or pretty up the rear window slant into the body. Maybe even reconsider Adam's suggestion of a roadster, as that just might be the most sensible.
I'm currently going steampunk at the moment making somthing similar like this.
Gmod needs more steampunk :3:
Gmod needs more steampunk :3:
I absolutely agree with you... give me a few more hours and I'll have some pics ready... it's going to be my engine powered beauty!... might make a map for it... we'll see
preview. i'll make a a thread for it with more pictures and perhaps a video if my brother can help me with that jazz. Ducati sport 1000 i still have some details left, like the mirrors and some tank details and foot pegs and stuff. then of course i have to figure out how to make it drivable.
Ducati sport 1000 [IMG_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/gm_bigcity0027.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
That's damn pretty. I don't see very many bikes on GMod any more, so this is quite refreshing.

the only thing i'm not really happy about is the fact that each wheel has 16 props :/ i had to use 8 clipped sides of that bike wheel and 2 bicycle wheels to get the spoked rims. but it was the only way i could do it to get the round edge of the bike wheel, without the futuristic rim. and the other 6 props are the disk brakes and the wheel hub. i'll try to keep the prop count low with it though, because i would like for it to be less than 150~ props when finished. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
Everyone thought that mass of golden milkjugs was a golden turkey before you finished it.
hahaha the tank really did look like a giant turkey. but when i saw that i just had to change the "wings" to a more square prop so that it looked more like the real thing.
I must say, that has much potential. I like the overhead rails. A change from the normal.
I'm going to make a custom rails model pack to fit the image, making them a half size track, but I'm not sure if my modeling is good enough yet... the biggest problem I'm facing at the moment is getting the materials to work... because right now it doesn't : This is an earlier wheel I made, but everything I make takes that material, and I'm not able to change it. [editline][/editline] Perhaps this is the wrong part of the forum, but it's still WIP...

you could use a pair of "monorail" tracks, with the wheels pressed against the rails. The monorail sliders work up to like 140mph, rather than the 40mph derailings common with regular trains.
Unslinga's steampunk clunker doesn't look like it'd give a shit about anything moving faster than ~25mph.
i agree, but i think what reaper was saying was that if they can handle 140mph, i'm sure they can handle 25 mph as well.
Having a bunch of troubles with my suspension setup. I'd love some help on this one assuming the suspension is really simple but is (hopefully) going to be well working at some point. The problem is the suspension being way to sloppy (as you see in the video). Tried fiddling with the weights and only got a minor improvement. Thanks.
Welp. Gmod borked. However I managed to take a screenie of a house I've been working on for the past few days.

So, is anyone having trouble actually getting Garrysmod to start? Did VALVe push out another Source update or something, or is it just me? [editline]edit[/editline] Goddamn my contentless pagekings.
Let me try firering GMod up. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] It.. it just keeps updating [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] .. I'm stuck on the "Preparing to launch Garry's Mod" now. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] Oh look, update #4 just started downloading at 4kb/s! [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] Either my internet is being a bitch or else the Steam servers are being a bitch. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] nope. "Can't load filesystem_steam.dll"
Oh well this is the last thing I managed to take a screenshot on before the whole tf2 update thing. 670 km/h and 416 mph I got no idea how I managed to get it up into those speeds.

damnit I finally have some motivation to start GMod and I can't. What rotten luck.
Also I think I was missed since this is only 2 posts from the bottom. :(
Like i said, mess with rope suspension, using cross-supports and x geometry. (look at he suspension geometry of old lotus F1 cars and replace metal struts with rope) Otherwise, if you want to keep at the elastic (which i think is only suited to off-road vehicles as it has always been far to saggy for me) Try decreasing the travel distance and using hydraulics (which you can adjust) as the spring, you can adjust constant, damping and length with adv input so can have much more flexibility with your set up. And as i said before, weight of wheels multiplied by 4 must at least weight 150, or more depending on the weight of your body. really light wheels will inevitably sag.
Welp. Gmod borked.

Last night’s Source engine update has broken Garry’s Mod. I say this every time – but don’t be mad at Valve about this. This is just the price we’re paying for being on the latest and greatest version of the Source engine. The alternative is to be stuck on an older version of the engine – which I don’t think anyone wants. I'd rather be able to play than have a new version. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but I'm pretty sure most people would rather have a working version that's two weeks old than a new one that doesn't work.
I've set garrys mod to NOT automatically update maybe 5 times, but it keeps automatically updating anyway. Any way to make steam remember this little but important tidbit of information? Or how to run off of a backup? I have absolutely no competency with steam, I never use steam for anything at all, I don't play any other steam games, but I have done the "don't automatically keep up to date".

Notice how we never get any changelogs to updates anymore either?
