I don't have access to the internet on my PC at the moment, but i am currently building a wooden war based tank with a propane firing auto-cannon. The auto cannon functions like a real cannon in that the recoil ejects the cartridge and loads the new shell into the breach in one smooth movement (its taken around a week to get it reasonably reliable). Il record a video tomorrow and transfer it onto my laptop so i can stick it onto youtube. I still have some small issues with the cannons stability as the magazine (which is gravity fed) tends to jam-up and detonate but i already made a quick mock up of a wire system that uses grabbers to hold the 2nd shell in the magazine thereby allowing the 1st shell to drop in without it jamming up. It works on paper but i have yet to build it. .
Update: transferred a video, uploading as we speak. The wire grabber system worked flawlessly. Im pretty pleased with the result as it solved a problem which i had with the limitation of the source physics. the welds would bend under the pressure of the shells and it would fail to close or the friction would cause the ammo to ignite or fly out or even blackhole. However with a simple wire delay chip linked to some timers i found a solution. Its not the most aesthetic contraption but i always make functional stuff look functional and my aesthetic stuff look aesthetic.

Give it a while to process if you want quality.
My task from now is to speed up the system to make it fire faster within the source engine limitations, however the speed at which it fires and reloads is adequate enough for me at the moment, but then what if nasa had said, "well al shepherd went into space, that'll do for the moment eh chaps?"

So simple, so awesome.

That's pretty cool. Nice. Blowback operation in action. A drum magazine would be a cool one to try too, might be easier.

Kept working on the 30 tonner for Karbine's competition.

Its taken about a month to get it that simple, it started of with a 3 stage magazine feed system with about 4 forcers and around 60 props.
whilst mechanically it was exceptional, it only functioned when the lever and pivot mounts where frozen, whilst wire grabbers are in my books a little cheap to use, they do the job very well and simplify it a great deal.
I plan to make an auto cannon which is "clip" fed and can fire around 45 rounds a minute. at he moment it fires around 27 which although is very good, i can improve. I've been looking at the mechanics of the bofors AA gun for it, but they take a while to complete. i have to sketch it all up on paper first and work out the forces involved. It means that when i build it it usually works.
Pity g'mod wont really help me with an aeronautical engineering degree.
Getting very finished on my car body. I added some more interior and exterior details, and I almost like the orange. Can I get some feedback and suggestions? A little constructive criticism couldn't hurt!

Know what I want to see? A hyrdofoil. That or an Ekranoplan. I've made an Ekranoplan, but not a nice one. Functioned well though

Some ship i'm currently making. Managed to optimise it from 185 props w/o turrets to 135, the turrets raise the total back to 185. The interior layout needed to change a bit, but it gave me a good excuse to add docking doors and a small hangar. It'll most likely never be operational, but if not for the texture errors that so far nobody in the SBEP thread has helped me with, it'd look rather nice IMO.

I hope they add more parts to Modbridge soon.
Finished this, it's not really worth a thread.

I love it. Nice change from the usual, certainly has style. :iia:
Worked some more on improving my lowly little car. I revamped the hood and rear window a lot, and messed with the front grille. Also provided in a dark red cause I can't think of any good color. As always, I'd really appreciate some advice or constructive criticism. Thanks.
