You gave me a gaybow :smith:
Seems that's been a consistent problem for me. Thanks for the help.

Did I fix it?

Also, is there any good way of figuring out how many props make up a contraption? I remember Adv. Duplicator having the function, but it's absent in my version that ships with WireSVN.

In case you didn't know, physprop_material jalopytire applied on the wheels gives better grip. It's much better than jeeptire.
that's what allows it to climb so well :)
well i basically have the body done. but this is gonna be incomplete until i know how to make a proper hover bike frame...oh well :(

What IS that material? It looks amazing on the frontal winglets.
Do I see ambient occlusion?
Just what are you doing to make your screenshots look so damned sexy..?
the map was dark so i just shined a flashlight on it haha that's it. source engine still looks surprisingly nice

Recently I came back to Gmod and someting happend to addvanced ballsocket. Mono wheel (min180,max-180) is no longer as stable as it was a while ago. Somehow now it tends to bend.
done some testing:
yeallow is min0 max0
blue is min180 max-180
green is min0.001 max-0.001
red is min-0.001 max0.001

Red is the most stable but still bends a little bit.
Am I the only one having this prlobem? Any idea how to fix this? What parameters for mono wheel do you use.
Nope, same here and i use your "red" settings.
But i have something else with adv.ballsockets, when my wheel turns exactly 180 degree it acts like there is only a normal ballsocket and flops like shit. At 179.999 degree and 180.001 degree it is stable. Some way to fix this? I don't want to turn my wheels every time and set a new adv.ballsocket.

I've noticed this effect a lot when trying to create solid axle front suspension on vehicles. I'm not particularly sure why it happens, but surely someone here does.
it's a common issue. When I used advanced ballsocket for the keepupright on my mechs, the ballsocket would fail when rotated 180 degrees.
The stopgap solution that I used with vehicle wheels was to have a second prop to attach a ballsocket to. I used the advanced ballsocket tool to link a wheel to the wheel on the other side, and also to the steering column or to the body, depending upon whether or not it was necessary for steering. The ballsocket holds in this case.

Ahh, my solution was to rotate the wheel and apply another ballsocket, but this fails upon duplication, so it isn't really a solution at all.

This is how I fix it, I recommend using this method.

I haven't had this problem with my front axle suspension, I'm wondering if its because I use so many settings. I have settings from the wheel to the axle, from the wheel to the steering arm and from the wheel to the propulsion wheel.

Having more than one, and also having those objects "out of sync" with each other really makes it so that the failure occurs very rarely and only for a very short amount of time.
