it's sure crucial if you're going to come in and criticise someone for the way they've posed someone who's holding one!

Agreed, altho I didn't criticise the pose. I see nothing wrong with how she is holding it. I just made a joke :p
sadly we have a lot of airsofters and mw2 players here (and on the internet in general) who disagree. ughghhgfh.

Well I only held a gun once, and It was a, uh.. I don't remember the name. It was a pistol atleast. Never shot one, and my general knowledge from guns come from css and cod.. But then again, I don't go around acting like a hardcore badass gunnut just cause I know some names and whatnot..

sadly indeed. i'll admit i've seen some nice and correct poses by people who don't know anything about guns, but it's always nice to see some trigger discipline and correct ready positions and what not in poses.. that is, if the character you're posing has the training.
I appreciate all the C&C, dudes.
The way she is holding the rifle is in typical fashion of American soldiers from WW2. I forget what the correct name of the carry position was called, but it was essentially carrying your rifle cradled under your arm and against your armpit.
Yeah, I tend to carry my .30-30 like that when I'm out hunting or in the backwoods shooting.
Cool picture by the way.
