Any advice for making the track better would be welcome i guess
Different routes in the track (shortcuts), and I guess a number that detects how many laps a person's done or whatever.
A neat thing would be like a shortcut where you have to blast the wall open to get inside, shit like that, I dunno.

I like it, Its nice and smooth/rounded. But it doesn't fit with the kinda Junky feel that most podracers have, add some protrusions and decorative bits and it'll work nice :).
edit: the pod looks horrible though lol.

Ok, Hunta, can you make a full tutorial on how to make, like, a pod chassis or something? I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to drive right. Also, is the seat part of the pod actually being pulled by the engines? Or is it some applyforce magic?
Right, full tutorial time:

The picture above shows the constraints for the Racer, each box is a phx plate with weight 130.
all elastic have 1500 damp, 15 rel (i think, same as suspension settings)
Red: Elastic 1200 constant
Orange: Elastic 100 constant
Blue: Rigid Ropes
Green: Elastic 3000 constant
Pink: Elastic 100 constant
You may want to experiment with those values, but that the set up I developed for mine (through many prototypes)
Now, Hovering, you want 2 put a ranger on each end of each engine plate, plus a vector thruster with Z = -1 input, you can use applyforce, idc. Then, using an expression, the mul input for each vector thruster, is (what ever height you want it 2 hover at) - Ranger - $Ranger. Then I use an if statement to remove the negative thrust, so it doesnt thrust into the ground if it is too high. Do the same for your cockpit plate, but only use 1 vector thruster and ranger.
Next on each plate (all 3) use thursters pointing in opposite directions to keep the roll at zero with the expression: Thrust = Roll + (3*$Roll). Do the same but with pitch with the cockpit plate. Now your engine plates should only tilt in pitch, relative the to ground it is above, and your cockpit plate shouldnt tilt, just hover.
place the expression for this at the back of each engine plate and anywhere on the cockpit plate, then add air resistance with the expression line: applyForce(entity():vel() * 2) this will stop your pod racer floating around and drifting like mad and will keep it straight.
finally parent each bit of ur pod racer to the corresponding chips (left engine to the chip at the back of the left engine plate etc)
I don't think ive missed anything, tell me if I have or if you are having any problems, this isnt a perfect solution, I spent ages tweaking my settings to perfection, so the wont nessasarally be perfect for yours.
Note* Ive added for more features that this to mine (dynamic engine roll, dynamic engine height etc) , but they arent needed.
oh and mine steers like slip steering (tank steering) but with rear thrusters on each engine plate, using space to do a tight turn, then 2 weak thrusters at the front for fine adjustment

Lol cause lots of people don't know how to use applyForce.
You could easily do an E2 for all of that, for each pod from one chip, its just the majority will most likely implement it wrong or something, unless its made very newb friendly.

Yeah, mine has one expression per engine and one for the back, I admit, I could've used 1, and I could've used more apply force but I was keeping it simple and 'newbies' find thrusters etc easier to understand

Personally i would like to be able to use hoverballs, they ARE perfect for this, as well i don't know how to use apply force and useing thrusters would mean you would have to use tons of them for stability ect.

Funky, but change the cable colour you used to connect the pod to the engines, it's supposed to be a cable, and the bit in the middle is all electricy :D

This is a template for pod racing. And, no the seats wont be there. The seats will be behind it where they are meant to be.
All that would need to be added are props to multi-parent for the body.
I would like Hunta to say if i should give this to the lazy people who fear e2.
