Actually all the guns in Star Wars are real guns from WW1, WW2 and the Cold War with a bunch of bits and bobs glue'd to them.
Like the Rebel blaster you see used on Hoth and Endor is actually a AR-15, Han Solo's blaster is a C96, the heavy blaster you see a couple Stormtroopers holding is actually a MG-34/42 without a belt in it, the standard issue Stormtrooper blaster the E11 and the blaster the Rebels on the Tantive IV use is actually a L2A3.
-jenkins shot first-
So far for me: DOOM 4, Star Wars BattleFront 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, The last Guardian (I should probably get a PS4), XCOM 2.
Wow, that's a lot!
!!!Fallout 4!!!, Battlefront 3, MGSV, XCOM 2, and Ghost Recon for me
fallout 4 and mgsv here
FO4, D00M, BFront
excited for the first, cautiously optimistic for the other two. ultimately indifferent to all three because i'll never have a computer powerful enough to run them V:v:V

I should get skyrim at some point.
oh my god Just Cause 3
i need a new computer FAST
unlimited C4 BRROOO
So my current e3 standing pretty much is as follows.
Unravel - aaaw
recore, horizon: new dawn - get on the PC now (recore might happen, horizon has a zero chance)
anno - interested
dishored 2 - oh cool, might be a fun game
doom 4 - yay finally...llooks exactly like quake; meh
final fantasy, shenmue - yawn
the devision - why is it an rpg now
fallout 4 - yay...you play as a preexisting, well defined character - damn, why(you have a house, a kid, a spouse) - which is a bit too much information. The other games were fairly open in terms of creation. The most locked down was actually fallout 3, since you had to be <25.
Mirror's edge catalyst - uh what why does it look like a mix of new syndicate and remember me.
that new rainbow six game - cinematic open world experience = we have a railroaded game but make you waste by walking from level to level for no reason at all...but open world is popular.

By that definition, then all the Fallout games have you as a defined character. Fallout 1 has you as a person who lives in Vault 13, referred to as the Vault Dweller , and in Fallout 2 you play as the descendant of the Vault Dweller, who is called the Chosen One, and in Fallout: New Vegas, you play as a courier who was shot in the head and still lived. Basically, every character you played as in the Fallout universe has had a bit of a defined past.
yeah but none of them had a defined family and defined troy-bakerness
If anyone's been to the Fallout Thread recently, you'd know there's already a colossal shitstorm brewing over the fact that your character has so much stuff predefined for him. Personally it doesn't bother me, but then again I'm a part of that demographic, so I see where the problems lie.
Hopefully there are freedom options. I don't like the voiced characters, though.
Yeah, having the player voiced severely weakens modding capabilities, unless someone in the Fallout community is a good enough match for the player voice.

Let's take a rundown of the characters in the the games.
Fallout 1 - Member of Vault 13, of undefined ethnicity, gender, between the ages of 16 and 88 or so (I don't remember the cutoffs)
Fallout 2 - Member of tribe, of undefined ethnicity, between the ages of 16 and 88 or so
Fallout tactics - member of a tribe inducted into the brotherhood of undefined ethnicity, race (ghoul, SM, human), age and gender (if you were inducted forcibly or not is up to you)
Fallout 3 - member of vault 101, with a well defined parent, under the age of 25
NV - an inhabitant of the area around vegas who works as a courier
Fo4 - a prewar survivor, who lives in this nice middle/upper class suburban neighbourhood, who has a spouse and a little child (probably around 30)
Yeah which one defined the character by far the most.
Take it this way - your social status within the vault/tribe/new vegas area is left up to you to decide. The same goes for your existing relationships. The vault dweller could very well have had a family back home. that's your decision.
Sounds like Bethesda could be trying to make the story go somewhere specific, rather than leave it up to the player.
It also appears to suffer from Mass Effect Syndrome, where the dialogue options are more guidelines than actually what your character says.
yeah you're not playing as your guy/gal
you're just directing troy baker/some in-house voice actor
Hopefully they will make it optional.
I heard that the female voice actress might be Courtenay Taylor, who voiced Ada Wong from recent Resident Evil games.

I am honestly not bothered at all to have a voice actor and all that in Fallout 4... But then again I am not the super hardcore gotta have complete freedom type of guy.
I am bothered by the fact that Troy Baker is now in every single videogame ever
There are other VAs too ffs
