Pretty much the only reason why most Laptops are shit for gaming is you can't change any of the parts. [editline]2nd July 2015[/editline] You could buy a laptop with good specs for instance, only to have it be run of the mill spec wise a couple years down the line. PC hardware advances at a annoyingly fast pace.

Also laptops often come with both an integrated GPU that's shit and then a secondary GPU which is much better but most games have trouble choosing the right one to use.

Well I have reasons why I don't have a new one at the moment. I couldn't exactly bring a desktop computer with me on a deployment and I moved around a lot so I got a "gaming" laptop. Now though, it still works fine and I'm not going to waste money that I don't have on something that I see as a want rather than a need.

I have an alienware because A) Sometimes I need it for school (editing and such with film files) B) I often go to visit my dad and we play games C) My mum's boyfriend requires complete vacancy of the living room/dining room area when he sleeps and his shift hours change every week, so one week I may be perfectly fine staying in the dining room area all night, but the next I might be forced into my room at 8. Once I move out and I have my own place, it's desktops all the way.
