i can agree that a lot of metal is shit - all that yelling/"screaming"/roaring/growling crap that seems to be all the rage nowadays - and i've said that a billion times, but what SebiWarrior said was basically "all metal is horrible". that's just pure ignorance, all music genres are so diverse and overlapping that it is utter idiocy to just cram anything under one label like that

well i mean sometimes you just don't like the fundamentals of a genre and you think it sucks and that's pretty much fine to hold that opinion, like if you don't like marmite then of course you're not gonna like marmite on toast. genres would have to be flexible to the point of meaninglessness to avoid a generalization like "metal sucks"
I feel "I hate metal it's all industrial sounds and screaming" is comment someone who also says "I hate rap it's nonstop saying nigger" would make.
maybe on the surface some songs of that genre look like that or are that, but you shouldn't generalize a whole genre, just because it's in the same genre doesn't mean they all sound the same.
