i find it weird that there was a big cuffufel about apparently being able to rape prostitutes in GTA V (what I'm pretty sure you can't), and that one scene in Tomb raider reboot, yet in FEAR 2 for instance when your character is literally raped in first person view and everything there was no controversy.

Only horror game I've seen that effectively uses rape to disturb the player is PT. It's used as a consequence for failure.

also what? the death sequence in P.T. is unclear and it's like that on purpose, so the viewer can draw whatever sick conclusion to what's going on. It's not confirmed to be anything, other than your neck being turned 180 degrees.
Regardless of how good a game is the controversy in depicting a rape scene is the depiction of it, FEAR 2 displays a very clear and very vividly depicted rape scene, if game journalists prided themselves on equality when it comes to complaining about things this would of been a controversy.

exactly, she twists your head and drops you to the floor. the weird noise you hear after that could be anything, personally it sounded like the noise movies and video games use for flesh being torn from a body to me, not coitus between a dead Norman Reedus and a ghost. However that's just my opinion, part of what makes that death scene great is it isn't entirely clear what's going on.

I get the impression that FEAR 2's rape scene was largely ignored because it calls itself a horror game, and horror movies do that shit all the time to be disturbing. Games like Tomb Raider and GTAV resemble Hollywood blockbusters, and you don't see Hollywood tackling rape often, therefore making the impact heavier.

there's somewhat of a implication, but that's about it. I don't know about any of the in-game story that implies the ghost rapes it's victims what docf was talking about.
