I don't post in perskins anymore and I haven't actively since 2013, I'm completely outside of this. But I do remember this exact same thing happening before and it's dumbfounding that Gobo leaves facepunch because people complaining about his posting only to comeback and do the exact same thing that caused him to leave..

I want to start hacking my own ragdolls and shit together for GMod, and I'm gonna get 3DS max using the student thing. Should I get the 2014, 2015, or 2016 version? Is any one of them superior? Or does it not matter and should I just get the 2016 one because it has the most features? Although I'm not sure if I'll even use most of those new features (like, what the fuck are Camera sequencer, OpenSubdiv support, Iray and mental ray enhancements, Nitrous viewport performance enhancements, etc? It sounds like some shit you'd read on the manual of a starship), so I'm thinking of getting an older version that doesn't require that much hard drive space.

If you want I can link you a great channel to help you get started with the program.

been trying to get into 3ds Max stuff as well, but can't get the SMD export scripts to work.

Which is not to the liking of everyone

I don't want to do any crazy shit, just hacking models together, like swapping the head on a ragdoll.

The problem some people have (including me to be honest) is that we're mostly used to the incredibly simple old plugins. Wallworm is a bit bigger and as a result stuff that's fairly simple is a wee bit more complicated. Though it's generally a workflow issue. Wallworm pretty much allows you to do everything from within max. The people who aren't such huge fans tend to only do the bare minimum in max itself and do a lot of the work outside of it.

Sorry I haven't really posted in a while. I've been having a really big emotional stump I'm going through. My friend I've known since Kindergarten had a small tumor a year ago, she had pretty much nine months worth of chemo and it seemed like it was gone. She went to a check up and it turns out the chemo didn't do anything and she now has brain cancer. So this summer I'm going to spend as much time as I can with her. But it still hurts really fucking bad.

Tbh fast paced PvP is quite enraging. CoD or BLR are awful for this reason, it's literally just "whoever sees each other first and reacts the quickest wins", while at least the good Halo games gave you a chance and was more about skill.
