Welcome to the hugbox thread where we come to publicly write about how shitty our lives are and ask Dr. Facepunch for advice.

Probably in general game discussion. Because video games.
Me and my friend were looking at photo's of a cool waterpark and then we saw photo's of their mascots....

I dunno, as far as Anime models in source go that looks pretty fucking good. Those shaders seem just about perfect for the art style.

I agree, the phong shaders on the cleavage are just perfect.

This actually looks pretty fantastic. Anime models never look good, but this is clearly an exception.
It's from an unreal 4 vr demo.
Because of course it is.
Call me a cynical fuck but I think another video game market crash is on the way, and pretty much for similar reasons. The market is being over saturated with claimed to be finished but buggy games, as well as early access games. To top it off VR seems like it's going down the road of being just another gimmick from where things are standing right now. To top that off consoles are getting more difficult to produce at a rate where they can get within a threshold of todays technological capabilities, but also be made and sold at a reasonable price.
I think either a crash is gonna happen or some sort of big self reform is going to start, even Nintendo is branching out from their comfort zone, which from them is a huge surprise.
Most new games I see these days just seem to fit into 'generic survival game', 'dayz clone', 'online-only shooter', or 'moba'
So many of them are just the same old bollocks with basically nothing gameplay-wise to differentiate them from the other million or so other games in the same vein.
good few indie games that are pretty decent but they nowhere near as mainstream as the bigger ones

Isnt that the same thing
[sp] I'm kidding, I just thought I should say something witty and asshole-ish as a come-back[/sp]

I can only recall buying 4 games the entirety of 2015 and only 1 was even from that year. Nothing has really looked exciting or interesting.
I want a good RTS game. A mix of Starcraft 1 and Company of Heroes. Nothing overly complicated.

A reform is the right way to put it, and to be honest it's been happening for a while. Valve started playing around with the idea of games being a service ages ago, and that model now powers the largest competitive games out there. We've seen the rise of the mobile market, and in about two years we'll be seeing the fruits of veteran game developers indie projects.
Consumers will never have to worry about not having a selection of good games to choose from. The over saturation of games has actually expanded the gaming audience. E Sports are now covered by ESPN, my grandmother plays games on her IPad, and GTA/CoD are household names (for better or worse).
In short, there is no prospect of a crash in the foreseeable future. What there will be is a devaluing of AAA games, and higher quality low budget games.

I dunno if this will do it, but I've been hearing good things about this lately.

Supreme Commander 2.
Lol no
would age of empires/mythology be what you're looking for, rusty?
although I might be biased because Age of Mythology was the main reason I got so interested in Greek, Norse and Egyptian mythology
I like and already have Age of Empires(III specifically)
You could try Age of Mythology, pretty neat spin on the series.
Why not
