Ok, with what I've done you'll be able to make bases and shit.

Rusty I love you.
would getting models from Squad be an extremely difficult task
no, but the devs are buttheads about it
all you Warhammer nerds are probably pretty excited about this, eh?
I really like the idea of a super huge military raised to combat a nigh-unstoppable threat being suddenly left without a purpose when the war is won. Kinda reminds me of the "relic from the cold war losing their purpose" trope from the 90s and onward, but with a sci fi twist.
The sci-fi universe I've been writing has a similar theme in it, so it doesn't seem like an uncommon concept.
Speaking of sci-fi stuff, anyone interested in making a logo for me?
I'm crafting a scene for google cardboard, and I need a logo I can slap onto certain objects.
The scene is your typical dystopian cyberpunk alley. Think Shadowrun, Bladerunner, ect.
I just need a logo for the police forces. The police use a red, yellow and white color pallete.
So I lost all my Gmod addons other then the workshop ones I have which was mostly maps due to my external HDD which had everything crashed. What would you all say is must have addons other then Ninjas/Kalis/Simkas/FTs/The Masks stuff?
i have to take another shit
You are not funny.
Also you ARE a shit.

i recompiled after this and the model literally split into separate individual pieces. im gonna lie down now
The Source engine is a very good engine.
I love it when the compiler insists there's a problem with a model repeatedly despite you having checked everything multiple times, then you try compiling it again without changing anything and it just decides to work that time.
im gonna resort to appeasing the machine spirits with unflowered usb sticks in 4 corners of my room to make this god awful model work
Does anyone have a good tutorial on head hacking/model porting? I know how to use 3dsmax but no idea what tools to use or how to rig. In theory I know how the process is done from seeing and talking to some people but I don't really know where to start.
Rigging is usually controlled via the Skin modifier and weight painting controls inside of it. That's how I do it.

That's why I've moved onto other stuff and never looked back.
You know how you import a model into Unity using Blender? You save the file, put it in your assets folder, and it works.

I teach game design to a middle school class, and I demonstrated the pipeline of getting a character into Source so they could appreciate how easy it is now.

Not that I don't completely agree, but us peons really know only how to mod stuff into source. Valve obviously has internal tools that are head and shoulders above anything they've ever released out to the world.
I mean SFM was an internal tool they made to make ingame trailers. Imagine what they have at their disposal for the actual heavy labor of making a game.
It's why source/source 2 aren't really viable alternatives to engines that are not just designed to be developer friendly, but (in most cases) open source and well documented. Epic treats people that want to use their engine like developers looking to make a viable product. Valve treats people that want to use their engine like modders that have the time and patience to pull off the casing just to get it to do anything, let alone make something coherent.
I probably came off as being up my own ass, sorry about that.
I'm just still in shock over how much has changed in the past several years. Building a game in Unity is rapidly becoming as easy as creating gmod game modes, and creating assets to be used in almost any engine has never been easier. It's wonderful.

The pressure is on to create games that aren't shit.

Big plane.
One of the very first bits of information we have about the new call of duty is that there's most likely going to be a new version of nuketown in it. And the bad guys have a shit faction name.
I already don't care.
Honestly other than playing against mates in split screen I always found nuke town to be the shittest map.

Like it's too small it's way too easy to spawn kill and get spawn killed.
that's exactly why cod kiddies love it
anyone know any good cowboy models?
Anyone got any good building & rubble prop collections?
