[QUOTE=F T;50346790]Speaking of bad games, I went to Gamestop and apparently several years back I put down some money for MoH: Warfighter. I couldn't fucking believe it but they still had a copy. So I put down the rest of the monies and now I own a bad game I forgot to pick up years ago. Hooray.[/QUOTE]
Play the campaign until you get to the first driving mission, that's probably the coolest mission in the game and there's not much else interesting after that. It's also one of the first missions.
I heard bad things about it, though. I mean when I first saw it I thought it was cool.
Not so much after seeing the ratings it got.
I dunno, I actually enjoyed the game fairly well. Multiplayer's dead now, tho.

The rest of the campaign is pretty bland and boring but I thought that mission was pretty cool because you're driving a shitty old Toyota SUV chasing another shitty old SUV in Pakistan which is something you never ever do in any game ever. And it controls pretty well cause that one mission was actually made by some NFS devs.
[QUOTE=TheGoodDoctorF;50346695]I don't want any remasters. I'm sick of them. I've been sick of them. If the game isn't playable on modern hardware then that's one thing, but if you're willing to drop $20+ on a "remastered" game that came out in the last 15 years that's still perfectly playable, then you'll have no right to complain when we see similar "deals" for games that came out in the past 3 years.[/QUOTE]
Well in Outbreak's case, they shut down the servers in 2008 because Capcom couldn't be fucked to relocate the servers from the old host(who was going out of business)
I don't want to burst your bubbles, but what I'm really hyped for is the Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord.
And the worst part is, there's no release date. Everyone thinks it's Q4 2016 or Q1 2017. I think I'll go crazy if I don't play it this year. Though, it already looks playable, so... I'm hoping I can get it on Christmas.
[QUOTE=Butthurter;50349400]im only mildly impressed by the graphics of that cod4 remake
its still no frostbite
[editline]19th May 2016[/editline]
actually im impressed by the dev teams heart dedicated to the asset production
not the graphics itself, they definitely put a lot of time into remaking all those assets[/QUOTE]
They might of just put higher res textures on some of those models, since they're half arsed to remake animations, i understand it takes alot of time and money i really do, but seriously? 9 year old animations.
You don't even need to know models to look at the new SAS and tell they've been remade.
[QUOTE=gtanoofa;50349505]Here's to hoping bf1's singleplayer wont suck like the previous battlefields and they wont fuck up the mp like they did with bf4.[/QUOTE]
What do you mean fuck up? Bf4 MP's is fun?
BF4 was unpleyable during release. It instantly made me regret pre-ordering it.
Also, the shitty China Rising DLC that came as Bonus surely made me regret it even more.
I wouldn't say unplayable. Only things that turned me off of BF4 (and BF3 almost) were the stories that weren't worth playing (except for shitty, easily outclassed guns), relatively average optimization and the usual premium shit.
[editline]20th May 2016[/editline]
Seriously it's hilarious how they went from Bad Company 2 which was full of charm to BF3 which was a mess of blue tint and floaty gameplay. BF4 felt like a bit of a step up but the charm was still lacking.
I have a "Battleborn" group in my steam friends, it gives me pop-ups with updates about shit that I could care less about. Any idea how to delete it?
Go to the Battleborn Steam store page > Unfollow
I've figured it out:
I had to cut out everything in autoexec.cfg and the launch options, type -autoconfig in the launch options, and then start up gmod and check if it removes the loading screen for loading the map.
[editline]19th May 2016[/editline]
Apparently GMod hates autoexec.cfg and launch option commands atm.
[editline]19th May 2016[/editline]
Actually, I was completely wrong about everything; Gmod's compatiblity to DirectX 9 fucked up.
Well in my case I never really solved it but I managed to discover a work-around while talking with Floater/Kali about the issue.
I have like three maps that always load no matter what so I load one of those and then switch to Black or Construct from there. Always work.
(It takes alot of time tho.)
Anyone else here really anticipating the new Outlast that is coming out?
Still need to play the first actually, is it good?

it's a good haunted house simulator, it's nothing amazingly deep or unsettling but it has cool setpieces and atmosphere and it looks really nice. and it actually kind of plays somewhat well which is pretty outstanding for this kind of horror game

Movement actually feels great. It's probably the best an FPS has done to make the player feel like they're controlling a whole person and not just a disembodied floating head.
its too bad thats basically all there is to the game other than sitting around and waiting until the coast is clear, if you're not easily scared it's basically waiting: the game
It has a story that can be very easily missed. But aside from story, it is a very well built game. My favorite horror game by far.
what happened to the discord chat

Yea, if the cat and mouse hunt doesn't feel tense to you, then I can imagine the game seeming pretty weak. I personally found it thrilling. The fear of being pulled out of my hiding spot at any moment was intense to me.

What kind of surgery ?

basically my problem with modern horror games in general, they have almost no gameplay so if you're not scared of the one monster it's like
what other source of tension is there
where is the rest of the video game

the early penumbra games did this great
monsters were a huge threat, but you could fight back
then they got worse as you lost your ability to fight back
[editline]21st May 2016[/editline]
like horror is best when you can fight back, it's just more effective to run away
hence the survival horror
Can we just like, stop with the horror games where you have no way to fight back and you're just hiding from some monster that's chasing you? It was a cool experiment for the genre but I think it's about time we went back to getting actual proper horror games.

nah just a haircut

And what's a "proper horror game"?
