I have literally no interest in playing Overwatch, but from what I've seen it's perfectly fine.
the way people talk about overwatch kinda reminds me of when furries started posting in the fnaf thread solely as a cover to fantasize about being anally raped by an anthro fox

Right on the money.
I brushed off Overwatch as a TF2 clone (or plain overrated) until I played the beta, which was pretty fun.
I'd say it's miles better than current TF2, and since it's currently not a F2P there isn't any bullshit like "Mann conomy" or keys in Overwatch (yet?)
I'd say 40$ is not that bad of an asking price on PC at least, the origins edition and console editions are 60$ (which is unfortunate if you're a console player)
and last but not least, I try to ignore the waifu stuff honestly (which is funny coming from me, but I honestly didn't give a shit about the tracer ass "controversy", or really played as the waifu characters, since there's only a few characters I liked.)
and that's my opinion on overwatch, if you wish to ask more (or yell at me about how I'm wrong, you can do that either on my steam or discord)
That whole shit show over the pose was the funniest shit ever.
Like what Cone said, I don't think anyone would've cared if Tracer didn't have a ~nice ass~. I mean shit, they just changed a pose, she still has a massive booty. I remember everyone in that thread about it in SH were collectively whining like a bunch of babies because their waifu couldn't do a sexy pose anymore. Except she still can.

and the fact the new pose is a 50s pin up pose

I think it's 50s
overwatch, when i played the beta, felt like if tf2 wasn't in source
and had way less maps
[editline]21st May 2016[/editline]
i mean, it wasn't bad but it wasn't special either
[editline]21st May 2016[/editline]
and if tf2 had really shitty matchmaking
So does Overwatch actually bring anything new and unique with it's gameplay or is the surrounding hype built solely around ass. Like I can't tell if people are actually genuinely interested in it (even though I can't really see anything drastically different) or using the guise of being excited for it as a thinly veiled disguise for "I wanna run around staring at cartoon ass".
I think the hype is just because it's a Blizzard project. I've played it and it's pretty fun, but it's still just a TF2 clone with less maps and like 2 game modes. The characters having moba-like skills is neat, but won't keep the game from getting stale for too long.
What gets me the worst about Overwatch is how its release has just destroyed another game, Battleborn. Battleborn was announced before Overwatch and is a straight up FPS moba rather than a TF2 clone with moba skills. This still didn't stop people from calling it an Overwatch clone. And Overwatch proceeded to shit all over this game's release. Oh hey, Battleborn is finally coming out! Oh wait fuck Overwatch open beta on the same day, what the fuck is Battleborn?
Someone trade me their ideas for my motivation.
Does someone know where I can find good Spetsnaz gear(Gorkas, helmets, boots, bulletproof vests, pouches, etc) at a good price and to avoid getting scammed by cunts?
[sp]other than the Russian Armed Forces plz[/sp]

Armed forces of the Russian Federation.

Google word "военторг" and you'll probably need to use google translation or learn russian to buy finded stuff.
Allways here to help.
If we're talking about shit like Slender and it's thousands of clones, then sure. It's definitely run it's course, and they ran themselves into the ground very quickly.
Long story short, I think traditional survival horror has aged awfully. I would much rather prefer more experimental games. PT was essentially a walking simulator, and I think it's one of the best horror games to have come out in the past decade. Future horror games shouldn't all be walking simulators, but they should consider what PT did well. 30-60 minutes of gameplay was sufficient for what it was trying to do with an obsessive attention to detail all dedicated to making the player feel like something is "off" and always in "prey" mode.
PT is only good thanks to how tiny it was. It would fail apart in the seams as a longer and bigger game. Honestly I still find the best horror game I've ever played the marine campaign in AVP2. You're decked out, you're a killer and yet you still somehow crap yourself on a peep...peep...peep.peep.peep.peep

Seems like you can only buy stuff with rubles(that I don't have). Do you know any other places where I can find that kind of stuff that is not in cyrillic and is in English?
Assuming it's for airsoft or collecting, find an airsofters/collectors group that specializes in Russian surplus. Red Alliance is a good forum and people sell shit on there all the time.
Buying from other collectors is cheaper, you're less likely to get scammed, and you know exactly what you're buying because it's not all in russian.
So, I found a Gorka suit on the Special Russian Shop for 54,99$ with a K6-3 helmet(169,99$) and a bandana(5,99$). I also found a "Rock" assault vest(64,95$) and Aravi black boots(54,95$) on Soviet-power.com. I'm gonna go on Red Alliance and ask if these two websites can be trusted.
Like if someone tells me that Widowmaker or some shit is a compelling character I can be almost certain they're bullshitting.

I hate the characters. They're all so god damn obnoxious and grating, especially Tracer and DVa.

I agree. I never said that a finished Silent Hills would have been good, only that what we got from PT was the perfect length. Horror games have trouble if they go on longer then 4 hours imo. Outlast is a good example. Once you know how the AI works, the game get's pretty tedious. Some games use that exhausted state of play to their advantage (Silent Hill 2 and Spec Ops are good examples) to make the surreal even more disturbing.
tl;dr
I would have much more confidence in a shorter experimental horror game then a new traditional style survival horror game.

weird horror like PT is always best in the short format because it more closely emulates a nightmare

Isn't that kind of like Gearbox's own fault though? They seemed to have a nonexistent marketing campaign.
The only reason I happened to find about it (a month ago or so) was by accident. And when I asked about it from my friends who play MOBAs and shit, none of them had ever heard about it.

That made me cringe unbelievably hard.

Their marketing hasn't been great, yeah. But it was a big headline title at E3 a couple years back, then it went dark for a bit. Came back with more news and an open beta.
And at this point was where anyone new who had heard of it wrote it off as an Overwatch clone, so people didn't care.
Having played the OW Beta, I'd say it was really damn fun. Way more fun than TF2, however it's not worth 60 dollars by far.
Modern TF2 maybe, but even then the game is all polish no substance. Like a swimming pool of the stuff, and somewhere in there is a little strip of leather.
Point being, game has massive issues. Splitting up the game into 20-ish classes misses the point why TF2 only had 9, it was never about how much they could make, it was how they could balance everything for everything. Overwatch's belief is that if it's a clusterfuck enough, you can kill anybody, and counters sorta exist, but in the end you can just pick bastion or roadhog and there's no real 1v1 counter to that, just praying that you and your team line up your crosshairs on him at the same time before you die.
There's also horribly boring classes that serve no purpose. Symetra's entire character is based around her ult, she's got nothing to offer outside of that. At least TobleroneSweedishdwarf can put his sentry at any time, and it really is a sentry. Having his ult follow the entire process of a level 1 - 3 sentry from TF2, design and all, shows just how much they ripped it off. They didn't rip it off enough, or at least the good parts.
And oh jesus the level design, it's chokepoint after chokepoint, it's rediculous. How do you start the Russian Industrial level? With a chokepoint, and one other route you can go if you have the power to fly. So only 3 classes can get around it, good job everyone. How does Temple of Anubis start? Chokepoint. How does Kings Row start? Chokepoint. At least hollywood gives you some space before it throws you into a chokepoint, and if you argue there's two routes it's literally a door slightly to the left, you can see both at all times when defending.
It was fun, but it was shallow as fuck, I don't really feel skillful pressing shift, v, and then lmb over and over again as I murder entire teams. Reinheart requires a team, and in pubs he's practically useless to play as because nobody will take advantage of the shield you give them. Bastion is a pub stomper, and people will call for his nerf despite there being ways to counter him in nearly any situation. Oh and widowmaker is useless except for her ult, she can do nothing that McRee can't do without a scope. Except maybe climb walls, but McRee doesn't need to hide, he's not a pantsy.
Also if you deny it's HEAVILY INFLUENCED by TF2 you're wrong. I live near Irvine, I've spoken to developers before, they outright admit it was "heavily inspired" by TF2, as well as a fuckton of other sources. Basically they threw Quake, League, Dota, TF2, and probably some fifth thing into a pot and called it a day. When their thought process on creating heroes is "We need somebody with a rocket launcher!" and they just roll with it, you start to realize it's not really built around balance anymore. Oh and in interviews they stated how largely TF2 had on their level design, even going as far as to copy the level units used for rooms / between caps. It's why the levels feel like official TF2 maps, barring the fact they never learned what chokepoints and alternate routes were.
TL;DR, Fun game, actually is a rip-off of TF2 as well as other things, has no balance because they want rocket launchers, level design isn't designed properly, salt powered robots. :weeb:

the character is apparently popular with Japs and Koreans.

So, is Rin really permabanned? And why so?
Gordonator was shitting up esp wars, people reported him. Mod kills Rin instead of Gordonator. Such is life in Facepunch.
