Oh yeah the executions are dumb I never do them but they're also 100% optional.
Because Brutal Doom runs on the logic that edgy slit-my-wrists columbine gore and violence makes a game good and better because "THAT'S HOW DOOM WAS MEANT TO BE!!!".
If you wanted something to make Doom feel more modern, fast paced, and up to date, Skulltag and ZDoom do that just fine.
Even GZdoom and Zandronum do that too.
Honestly, after playing a bit of Brutal Doom, it feels like something a school shooter would make to get back at the system.

Source ports just make it run on modern machines and with normal controls, I'm talking about more modern stuff like having somewhat more realistic weapons with stuff like reloading and more advanced ballistics and effects and better sounds. I do agree that the gore is sometimes a bit overdone and the mentality the whole thing goes is dumb. But it's still probably one of the best mods that try to bring in some more modern mechanics into Doom.

Oh oops I thought you were talking about how doom straight out of the box runs like shit on modern systems. If you're talking about weapon reloading, and ballistics and all that other stuff, then yeah you're right about that.
Though to be fair I personally prefer Weapons of Saturn for that kind of stuff, its weapons are a bit closer to vanilla in appearance and it isn't as bloated with features that are just pointless and unnecessary.

Also in other news, my hard drive is genuinely having problems this time. Rather than just making funny noises and me being paranoid, the folder I compile all my models to corrupted and other sectors are apparently going bad. I got my folder back after running chkdsk, but it's still not a good thing.
I really need to finish the AK pack so I can stop being paranoid about losing anything.

I've got all my raw models on my external and I'm backing up finished materials/models as well. If this hard drive were to explode right now then I probably wouldn't really lose much, but I'm incredibly paranoid and always expect the worst.
I know it's a really, really depressing thing to say, but I spend so much time on this PC that I get incredibly anxious and can't stop worrying whenever there's anything even remotely wrong. To the point where I can't sleep sometimes.

Personally if I was OP still I wouldn't think that'd deserve a lifelong ban, but all the unnecessary bullying outside of esp from various parties (Lucky9Two in particular) has made me sympathetic.
It certainly could have been handled better(without the "I hope he gets shot" and bullying) but I think his intent was to go in there to grab models and then leave.
The fact the bullying kept up here, outside of esp wars no less, was even worse and was completely uncalled for. Maybe his ban will be lifted next thread but idk it depends on who gets elected in as OP.

That was my fault. I'm quite terrible at communicating and sometimes automatically assume others here will know when I'm joking and understand my dark humor/sarcasm, if you can even call it that. Unfortunately people who don't like him bandwagoned with that statement I made. I did also own up to that and apologized to him on the same page.

While I partially agree (FP-style bullying was uncalled for) it was really annoying with the spam-level of modelbegging plus ignoring basic rules.
(His faction teleported left and right and seemed to follow no reason or logic whatsoever.)
Of course people do deserve a second chance though and I'm personally not against having the two current bans lifted for the next thread, assuming the users acknowledge their errors.

You thought we'd be stupid enough to think you were a new person when you came back to the thread under an alt account to make exactly the same model request you'd made on this account.
