It's never had this before. It's been up for 3 years and hasn't been edited or updated since then.

It doesn't seem to actually break the addon, but it's still not something I want up there. Tbone suggested maybe it got flagged after someone (or, I suspect probably a lot of people over the years) reported it after finding out they're just props and not actually weapons.

Seeing as Valve pretty much let bots run Steam and Steam Support it will be hard to get any help from there. IIRC devs, in this case Facepunch Studios, have limited control over the Workshop as it is run through Steam however I guess you could try and contact one of the FP staff members?

I PMed garry about it. He's not actually been online on FP since I sent it, but the notice has gone away. I dunno if one of the moderators looked at it or something, but it's fixed now.

I don't have that option under mine.

I'm trying to get an alpha mask by using the PFM version by going to poster > add PFM depth picture and opening it in photoshop. I get an image in PFM that looks something like this:

I think there's a way to control the depth of the PFM somehow, like make stuff closer darker, stuff further brighter.

Anybody know anything about this?

You can get rid of things in your steam library permanently now, which is a blessing in a case such as this.

They're made for a different audience. They clearly wouldn't make or sell so many of them if literally nobody in the world cared. Some people like that.

I agree with you guys in that I don't see the appeal, but there's pretty obviously a demand and a market for them. Even the ones that are straight up pornography still have a right to exist, but perhaps Steam isn't the right place for them.

this is more because it helps them sell than anything else though, there are an awful lot of visual novels that have sex scenes tacked on literally just to ensure sales (and when they roll around it is blaringly obvious just how out of place they are)

more than a few have the ability to outright skip any and there's still a big load that contain none whatsoever

It's all in the name, yo. Visual Novel. It's a novel (or a full blown fucking book if you're reading the bigger ones) backed up by visuals and sound. Instead of having to describe minute details to you, they are visualized or sounded off, helping to immerse you in the world, etc etc.

Also there's some real gems out there - whether they're just in the world department, actual writing, unique and eyecatching artstyles, brilliant soundtracks, or all four at the same time. For each and every 10 smutty literal porn VNs there is at least one that delves deeper.

also yes - nekopara falls into the smutty literal porn bracket, just without the straight porn (in the steam version). literally just made for losers to jack it to catgirls
