I haven't seen the Revenant so I can't really speak with authority here, but from what I've seen of the highlights the acting wasn't [i]too[/i] amazing. To be honest, the oscars feel the same every year. The movie you want to win an award gets snubbed in favor for a non-deserving one because it met some diversity quota/agenda that Hollywood wanted to shove in your face. The actors and actresses, when they get an award, always say the same crap in their speeches, like raising awareness for this insignificant cause nobody has even heard of, bringing attention to the media flavor of the week like global warming, or thanking their own president whom is the Dalai Lama while damning George Bush for some reason. Don't get me wrong, the actors and actresses who get those awards do deserve them, but what they say in their speeches just feels like the same parroted crap you'd see on tumblr from time to time. Oh and I like the Dalai Lama too.
