I'm referring to a lot of things. Like fair dinkem if you enjoy that stuff I just don't. And to be honest I'm not really talking about Moakr's picture because I know he didn't use the Stacker tool and it is honestly pretty creative. I'm mostly talking about that bunch of blocks stacked up on each other to make some weird abstract art looking shit. [editline]123[/editline] Why do you keep changing your rating Vioxtar?

If you're looking to get attention, then try something different. If you enjoy the stuff you're doing, then keep doing it. Internet points have never mattered.

Then you added the extra bit about the stacker tool 'bullshit' that's 'making weird abstract art looking shit' and is supposed to 'garner attention', so I wanted to rate you dumb but misclicked on agree. After a while I noticed my mistake and switch it to dumb. The reason I rated you dumb was that Garry's Mod is by definition a platform of creativity where anything and everything is limited to imagination, and this section exists to showcase these products, given its title and reason of being. Garry's Mod is also a platform of art of all kinds, and [B]abstract art[/B] just as strong as any other kind. Not to mention those 'stacker bullshit' abstract artworks (probably referring to CK's, as he was the only one to create them (for only a short period of 2 or 3 weeks or so, merely a passing trend)) looked visually more pleasing than other more 'normal' poses here, and honestly it was super refreshing seeing them take form after loads of repeating themes *cough* militarygunssoldiersrussiansomethingsomething*cough* When someone finally produces something different and creative, it's the opposite of bullshit. It should be welcomed and appreciated. dont worry, imma keep it dumb ;)

I'm not going to act like it's some kind of amazing work of art because after being explained to what the stacker tool actually does I just simply don't find it impressive. And I mean maybe your "militarygunssoldiersrussiansomethingsomething" is true when it comes to the Want to Post a Picture thread but if you look through the threads in recent pages or on other GMOD/SFM Aggregators like Deviantart I'd say most aren't "militarygunssoldiersrussiansomethingsomething". I can't say I particularly like you or Crazy Knife's overall demeanor, you in particular (Vioxtar) are very elitist so maybe I am just a bit biased against you and the work you create.

I don't hold feelings against anyone here and that includes you. I simply explained why I switched my rating and why I rated you in the first place. And I'm not sure what you mean by my demeanor, mind explaining?

Really the only definitive "right" answer I can give are people are people we're not all going to like how each other act. That being said my personal opinion I don't like the I guess the borderline-elitist artist vibe they give off at times, but like I said that's just how I feel and I'm sure plenty of people in this community don't like me or how I act.

well This section can be grasped very differently it seems. I guess we have two different mentalities. I'm not sure what's yours, but mine is summed into a code I go by: 1. Every submission is an artwork 2. Provide feedback/comments/criticism especially when asked and 3. share opinions and the reason I do so is that I know what it feels like to receive recognition, and even more so, what it feels like to [B]not receive recognition[/B], so no matter what that type of recognition it is we're talking about, I always make sure to provide it. Sorry if some of you disagree with this mentality or don't like my input. You can always scroll down I guess

I was considering to join the Navy a few years back, always thought that being a soldier is something beautiful and how awesome would be to hold a real gun and shits. Yep, I was really naive back then. Once I saw how bad is the life of soldiers down here and that being in the army, or navy or whatever is far from what I dreamed of, I decided to stay out of it. Also, my overall health dosen't help. Well, but thanks to Conscription, in the best case scenario I'll be a reservist, so I'm fucked anyway.

I'm all for the idea that gmod can be used to make any kinds of art (except smut as I don't consider that art), but couldn't you have made your point better than that? And have you examined this section carefully? Not everyone is men in uniform with guns shooting at other men in uniform with guns. The things you yourself post here already disprove that claim. Just curious.[/QUOTE] There are only a few of us that either joined or were conscripted. Me, Taggart, Jenkins(SlimCharles), gtanoofa, Bloocobalt, and maybe 2-3 who are conscripts. A mixture of volunteers and the voluntold. :P

nothing from with simple solider poses really i mean, they might not be AS creative sometimes as other more abstract pictures but its all subjective at the end of the day, i mean a lot of more traditional art like paintings n stuff are a lot of the time of simple things but that doesnt mean you wouldnt call it art also imo it gives a great chance to practice with posing, effects etc [video=youtube;H8DIyWK72OA]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8DIyWK72OA[/video]

There's lots of content available that's useful for posing military related things, and a lot of the people here have an interest in that type of stuff. It doesn't devalue the other types of content here, It's just that's what the majority of people here are interested in.

I legitimately came here with good intentions, and responded to Slim Charles' question with absolutely no bad intent. Apparently the phrasing I picked turned out more bitter than I initially intended when writing it down, I wrote it with a (perhaps shitty) sense of humor rather than a sense of hate and I promise you that. Maybe it turned out more bitter than I intended because Slim Charles described CK's innocent artworks as bullshit attention seekers, while I thought they were interesting. Rate me dumb all you want, I still fully stand by my opinion that what he said was dumb, and you know what? it doesnt mean jack shit, I say dumb shit all the time, everybody does. All I did was answer a question. I appreciated him bringing the option he was simply biased and being honest. I'm leaving this thread now. I guess people don't like me here or something, sorry. Surprised that I have elitist demeanor. I'm pretty much always nice to everybody. The only negative aspect one could interpret from me is when I give criticism, which I do give to everybody unless the thread doesn't ask for C&C. If you're wondering where all the stacker tool pics are from recently, chances are they're all from me. Despite the fact that the stacker tool existed for years, I only recently discovered it ( 2 weeks ago) and realised that by adjusting the direction, various x,y,z rotate,yaw,curve settings I could basically paint with 3d objects inside of garry's mod. I thought that was pretty neat, a lot of it is not threadworthy, which is why the majority of it is in the 'want to post a pic but not make a thread' thread. I personally liked it because I've always struggled with constructing symmetrically shaped walls, ceilings, usually architectural things in garry's mod. And now I discovered this thing which massively simplifies my life. Also, there's no correlation between aesthetics in a work of art and the effort it took to make it. Simple things may look pleasing to the eye as well as displeasing. And complicated things may look displeasing to the eye as well as pleasing. Some of the abstract stuff I've uploaded in the want to make a pic but no thread is pleasing to the eye and took less effort than if I had painstakingly put every object with the physgun tool. Technology / lua code like the Stacker tool are there to simplify things and expand horizons.

In fact in my first post where I called it "bullshit" I wasn't talking about anything in particular it was more of a blanket statement. I enjoy Crazy Knife's pictures that are grounded in [i]some[/i] reality, ie not a bunch of blocks stacked up in a interesting shape.

TBH I've never seen CK act like an ass. Regardless this isn't 3rd grade, we're not here to bully eachother. We are here because we share a common interest bound together as a community. We help eachother improve, we inspire others to move forward. Don't forget that.

Who's bullying anyone? the way I see it we're having a level-headed discussion. There's no flinging insults back at each other, both sides have even agreed that the other may not be wrong/in-the-wrong. Why are you coming in here and trying to make it out like it's something it's not, to feel righteous?

You might have intended it for it at the start but now Vioxtar went kaputt and your opinions is starting to turn into bashing of others people work which in itself is a bit elitist. But hey, that's what it looks like from my perspective.

If "Bashing" is saying that I personally don't find some work; namely the abstract art that consists of nothing but bricks or tiles, particularly doesn't appease my tastes then by all means I'm a bully. In-fact in my original post I didn't name anyone in particular.

I'm surprised that this all started with me using the stacker tool. It's like I opened pandora's box or something.
