I'm getting a weird error when trying to install Intel GPA, the program installs 100% fine, then it procceeds to install DirectX 9.0c without asking me (and wich I have already), then it says 'Couldn't find install.dll. Reverting changes', and deletes everything, including I'GPA

Kinda same things happened in 00s with russians and CS. There was literally a shitton of stupid custom mods that was (often) mostly made from other mods.

I suppose so, but not in such amounts like a decade earlier, there was hundreds of fan sites about CS. And a lot of content was looked like "Hey guyz, i have a HLMV and Paint, and i reskinned GIGN as FSB Alpha, woo!".
Also there was good content that was mostly uploaded on FPSBanana and couple big-ass forums.

GameBanana is still very much alive and kicking.

I had someone on there block me because I disagreed with him via stamp ratings.

He legitimately bought points, and spent them on the block function just because I made an off-hand stamp where he said something dumb.

I can't say it's a good community, but there are some fine gems of content on there if you dig in the right categories.
