Can someone explain what the point is in changing the layout between the view model and world model textures is? Like for example this view model texture [t]http://i.imgur.com/jK5awwb.jpg[/t] vs the world model [t]http://i.imgur.com/Vv15QPf.jpg[/t] I don't know how texturing really works but why couldn't you just resize the view model texture instead of making a completely new one for the world model?

Apparently the world model is a different, lower quality model and it utilises much simpler UV's and textures.

With worldmodels you have all the parts there and they all need to take up a similar amount of space.
