Right now the image is looking to calm, make it look like a warzone. Smoke, muzzle flash for the guy in the back, dust in the air etc.

that's actually pretty darn true, at most it should just have a bloomy red circle around it, it looks out of place and more or less ruins it
you have to be tasteful with bloom and lens flares, if you just toss them everywhere without caring it'll look bad
