The first one in incredibly bland and the lighting and fog/smoke of the second one is way to dark and too random, ignoring the giving lighting conditions. Now if you combine the two, it might be pretty cool.

Well, sky doesn't hurt, just too much of it will. Same for grass, you have too much focus on the grass. Should have brought the view a bit more pointed up, and zoomed to the left. Keeping the same left borderish, and make the right border at the tractor.

I've re-edited this about three times already and can't get it to look all heatwave-y. Here's my original, you'd be better off blurring the flames in the background. How did you get that nice haze effect in the first edit?

Displace filter on some thing I made. (Distort >> Displace) I think it looks weird, though.
