Have you tried super depth of field? It's much more nicer than the simple one, when it works. For some people it might crash their GMod, for some not at all. Just pray it does not for you.
What's super depth of field? An video option? I really have no idea. Oh BTW, I made another picture, I like it, but something allways is wrong, so why not tell me! :v: With or withought blur?
The best quality you can get is probably Print Screen as it is nothing else than what you're watching, then paste in some editing program, no console commands involved.
if you have a small screen, use practice stitches

After that you just press one button. But I see your point, though print screen is a tad inconvenient if you are doing a stitch (as mentioned above) or taking a sequence of screens.
This post has help me alot!! Thank you guys so so much!
Do you know what the console is? You're supposed to type it there.
everyone knows what the console is cunt
What settings should I have? And is there any command I can do to make them better? When I take a picture using the picture tool it makes horrible low quality pictures all the time. How do I take a good one? Thanks for the help.
Since update 143 in gmod 13 (was quite long ago) Garry added some cool console commands. One of those was console command called "poster". It works alike "screenshot but has one difference: If "screenshot" takes a picture of your current resolution, "poster" takes a much larger. For example: Type "poster 2". It will take a photo with twice resolution, like if you have 1280x1024 screen, poster 2 will make it 2560x2048. I don't know how to describe it, but imagine: Your props corners and ends on picture looks ideally straight, without any "ladders" (sorry, my English may be worst in the world) and so if typing "poster 3" it will take a picture x3 of ur screen resolution. Also there is an epic bug: Don't bind "poster" commands. If you do, it won't make a hi-res screen. It will make just some usual screens not like from 1280x1024 to 2560x2048 but 2 screens 1280x1024... All your poster are held in gmod screenshots folder. Have you ever tried to download not-so-professional background packs? If you did, you can remember that some of them were rough, others were nice and picturesque. So first were made wits screenshot, others are with poster. Also be careful: One minus of this feature is that pictures have huge size. If screen's size is abot 1MB, poster 3 will have 7MB, and time for epic sizes! Poster 5 will weight (sic!) 350MB. I think that ram won't held poster 10 'cuz it will be 2GB sized. 2GB, Carl. RAM would make a Satan call with fireworks. Poster works mot alike a screenshot. If scr. Typed in console will take picture of screen (e.g. Main menu and console) poster will autoexit console and take picture itself. Don't panic I fps drops to 0. It's normal because computer anyways has to render all this enormous amount of pixels. So wait 2 MANY LETTERS
FYI the thread is almost six years old and the original poster is not coming back
FYI the thread is almost six years old and the original poster is not coming back
I don't care (User was permabanned for this post ("Terrible bump, doesn't care" - Craptasket))
If anyone still doesn't know how to yet I got a answer from ZeÜberMedic, ZeÜberMedic: Hello there! Mysdao: Hey ZeÜberMedic: What'd you need with GMod? Mysdao: I was going to ask how do you get high quality screenshots? ZeÜberMedic: Turn all your settings to their highest, and instead of taking pictures with your screenshot button ZeÜberMedic: use the "poster" command in console ZeÜberMedic: You put in "poster 2" ZeÜberMedic: and it renders a poster in HD, twice your PC's resolution ZeÜberMedic: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\screenshots Mysdao: Cool thanks! ZeÜberMedic: It will then store them in this location
