It's unfair to compare those two things. It makes sense that high-tech factions could've developed cloning technology. It doesn't make sense that the US would sell plans for or just sell on one of their most advanced warships to any random PMC group. In defence of my own carrier, I think it's somewhat realistic that the GSAF would be able to get the carrier they operate. In reality, it was sold and sent to the shipbreaking yards in the 90s when the Soviet Union was breaking up and Russia was broke as fuck. If a faction or country that had a reasonably friendly relationship with Russia suddenly offered a massive amount of cash for the carrier instead of it going to the breaking yard, I think it's reasonable to say that they would've taken the offer. The Nimitz-class carriers are still in active service. None have ever been scrapped or sold on, and I really doubt America would sell the plans to their allies let alone a private group.

Even if there's some things in this thread which break all laws of realism and common sense, doesn't mean we might as well do away with it entirely. In other words, there's allowing some breaks in realism to allow fiction in, and then there's pulling shit out of your ass for your own conveience.

The US still counts as a country and a superpower it's just difficult for the OP to show the responses of massive militaries and countries to in-game events realistically. I think licensed copies of some less advanced or less recent warships would be fine, but I really don't see the US selling their carriers or the plans anytime soon considering how big of a military asset they are for them. Carriers offer a big military advantage. You wouldn't just happily hand over your advantage to people who are likely to use that against you, would you?

I think this is kind of getting out of hand. The entire point of the suggested rule was to just prevent people from pulling entire naval fleets (or other assets like that) out of their asses overnight as soon as they decide they want to get involved in naval warfar. I personally don't think it makes any sense for a lot of factions to have aircraft carriers, battleships, or navies of any kind, and I especially think it's absurd for random PMC groups to be operating high-tech 100,000 ton nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. But, in the interest of fairness, I think it shouldn't nessecarily be banned. Limited, sure, but I don't think we should outright ban people from having those kinds of assets just because it seems stupid that they'd operate them. Just as long as they're naturally brought in, and take at least a short while to be manufactured or prepared for use. It's kind of bullshit when that sort of thing just appears out of thin air with a hasty wiki edit to make it seem like they had those assets the entire time and we just somehow never knew about them before. As a non-naval related example, without this rule there's nothing to stop me from declaring tomorrow that Grey Storm has had a giant mobile death fortress the size of Iowa parked over in Greenland this entire time, with enough nuclear missiles aboard to upgrade the entire middle east to the stone age. And somehow, nobody's ever noticed it before.

Why not just grab the computers, laptops and any documents and run like hell? It may not be a efficient way of doing it, but it is a fast way of doing it when you are short on time.
