Espionage Wars V5: Sadder than Prey 2 getting canceled.

Ragdoll mover is great for all sorts of things. Accidentally posed a guy with his feet off the floor? No problem, just ragdoll move him down a bit. Can't get a guy's arm to bend enough because the model has shitty physics? Just ragdoll move that shit. Posed a guy in the wrong place on a scene? Just move him around.
I find it great for just moving props around as well. It's a lot more precise than physgunning them if you just want to make fine adjustments.
That's another thing. I learned the hard way quantity isn't quality. Try and make enough time that you can sit down and pose with no rush. I know trying to get into espionage wars can be exciting and you want to put something out but you have to be patient with your poses.
Got it.
You should also use the stand pose tool
Thats okay. i can improve more.
I sounded like a dick sorry. I was awful as well when I first started posing.
First of all, use better models if you can, second of all, try to up the quality settings when you take the screenshot and third of all, a better choice of map would be good. And no collide works wonder for when posing ragdolls holding things.
Okay. Thanks for the feedback. And also. I am trying to find some maps that have some type of "boot camp or city" feeling? Oh and i don't know how to get that excess lighting crap off the models.

Like i said. This is just for feedback. I'll improve.

Same here. I remember using the L4D survivor ragdolls; what I ended up with was a clone army of slack-jawed mercs that looked terrible in most poses. I'm using the generic terrorist/mercenary ragdolls at the moment because they actually look very well done and I've no idea how to ahead and reskin/make my own ragdoll models. You can always just go ahead and use generic units like I've gone and done.

I see this is a most interesting pastime you guys have going on here. I wouldn't mind joining in, I've also had some ideas what kind of faction I want to create.

The "KPB" (KRV) is the "Красный России Восстания" or "Red Russian Rebellion", a guerrilla/partisan/militia type faction. I could imagine such a group arising given the massive conflicts and occupations of territory in Russia.
I was planning on re-skinning/model-swapping the CS:GO Balkans, along with various other models and hardware to create a real mixed-bag militia look. They could sport armbands or patches of the logo I created. My only downfall is that I am very inexperienced with handling model hexing and bodygrouping (I've attempted many times in the past).
I'm not half bad at scene building and posing, I have some old images hanging around but as it may not be apparent, I haven't been making a lot of those recently.

Welcome to the thread!
given the massive conflicts and occupations of territory in Russia.
I feel like people really keep over-exaggerating the conflicts that occur here. One faction's soldier could give another faction's soldier a dirty look and people would describe the event like it was the third world war.
A bit of fighting went on in Moscow, but it wasn't an all-out war. There was an insurgency in the south with Russmenika and Tbonia, and Tbonia and Volf are apparently fighting a border war now. I don't think anything that's ever happened there could be described as 'massive'.

Thanks. ^^
Well, I might have exaggerated the situation that is Russia... (I don't think it's an exaggeration when it comes to Eastern Europe in general though, Odessa was decimated via nuclear device so there's that)

Odessa was different because everyone was around to murder each other, the insurgency in Russmenika was asymmetrical house cleaning. Moscow didn't go anywhere as stated.
Odessa was the last time anything serious happened in Eastern Europe, and the last serious fighting (if you don't count the SSR's invasion since that was kind of one-sided) was three years ago.
A lot of little things have happened in Eastern Europe since then, but nothing really significant.

Well, I guess the sun doesn't always shine on the Eastern Bloc... which means I can do sneaky guerrilla tactics. :>

I await Tbonia's glorious return to actually fight an actual faction; looking forward to the inevitable tank battles. Unless, that is, a faction with mechs turns up; then I'll go ahead and go postal on them.

Well my desktop has been built but has one more day of field trials, then a couple of days returning home through shipping.
So far it has a solid 60FPS on the following games maxed out:
MGSV
GTA V
ArmA 3
Insurgency
Ricochet(I thought maxing this out would create a black hole)
Killing Floor 2
When it comes back I'll be sure to pose but my Fallout 4 character really needs a new haircut.

In the territory of the First Baltian Republic, SABRE has acquired an aged Soviet Bunker complex, after a report commisioned by the Baltian Republic came to the conclusion that the budget of the Military had little prospect of maintaining
it, thus leading to the Baltian Republic selling the facility to SABRE, which has begun converting the bunker and the small river that runs through the bunker as a supply station and security outpost. The facility promises to also provide a
sizable storage vault for some of SABREs more illicit gains, and the more sensitive materials; following the theft of such pieces from its London Offices.
I hope it doesn't interfere with my kabab owned territory.

Why the fuck does Kabas and VDI control sectors the size of China despite being privately owned companies?
I mean I know Towerlight did kind of the same thing (Although on a much smaller scale, and the gaining of the territory was much more drawn out, it's also the main reason why I didn't come back as them) but Jesus Christ that's ridiculous.

Honestly considering how your faction has just started that territory seems unfairly huge.
I think there should be some cap on how big your country/sphere of influence is, I think it's stupid how PMC's can own insanely large amounts of land and massive sprawling countries can just show up out of nowhere. Your borders/influence can be far reaching but you should have to earn it during actual gameplay, not behind the scenes or when you just show up.
[editline]123[/editline]
Also just so I'm not appearing super hypocritical being a Fictional Nation faction myself this is how tiny Boliveria actually is;
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/255920778/ESP/Boliveria_map.jpg[/t]
that was my fault because i drew those territory markers up in five seconds despite not knowing how big they were because i wanted kabas to stop shooting me and VDI needed a clubhouse in the mountains

9/14/2013 was when i made that holy crap i didnt think anybody saved it
Jenkins does have a point. It doesn't make a lot of sense for legit PMCs to own much or any land at all, but paramilitary groups and fictional nations should probably earn the land they occupy.
Even though the GSAF's territory on the map is fucking gigantic (because it had to be the whole Arctic circle), that's only the land they patrol and keep tabs on. They don't 'own' it, and it's not like they've got bases on every island or troops covering the whole area.
They won't stop people from going up into the Arctic circle, but if you're up there then you can guarantee they're keeping tabs on you in one way or another.
So a change of plans, mostly to aid Tbone, and all of the stuff happening in Russia and around gives life to my old faction again, and I got rid of it in the first place because Tbone left, but came back after I rid of it. The merc thing wasn't really thought out in anyway, it was just a buffer from VU.
If someone wants to cry over "ono rik y r u swop foction agen?" then go head, I honestly do not care.
1. Republic of Russmenika.

The Republic of Russmenika was originally part of the Russian empire, but after the fall of the soviet union they broke off and formed their own nation. With everything happening Russia paid little attention to them during the first years. As the Republic was exiting the chaotic phases of forming a new nation, they got better organized and grew in numbers. Left with armories of the Soviet Union Russmenika saved a lot of funding by not investing into military equipment. Later on the economy has gone down and Russmenika is constantly bullied by Russia and Kazakhstan, also having a civil insurgent. Turning the upper Western side of the nation into a warzone. Being formerly self centered and ignorant of the outside world, Russmenika has opened for trade, embassies and investment in foreign corporations. The Senate claiming their military sufficent enough to beat down the insurgents, serveral generals beg for foreign aid in strenghtening and modernizing their military.

Tacticus Solutions' range of control is on the property they own on/in the Tour Montparnasse building in Paris and whatever other office/property space they are currently renting/owning/paying taxes for in other parts of the world. The area of influence in France isn't their absolute control but it's just an area they have influence in or that you would see them in commonly.
They've got other places around the world but they like sticking to corporate matters rather than policing up everywhere with military force(which is why I pulled them from Detroit because it was entirely against their character to be there.). They test their technologies in parts of the globe because France isn't a good place to see how a scramjet engine works in tropical climates, or how a UGV will handle arctic terrain.
Also another thing I really want to make clear about Tacticus Solutions is that they cannot do war stuff, they have a security force but they can't do open battle with tanks and jets and navies. Their security force is to ensure the safety of their corporate offices and test sites, as well as provide any security service for someone looking for professional security. The most they would be able to do in open combat is JTAC work for a force that has the means to fight.
They have two aging C-17's and five F-4 Phantom II's, the C-17's are modified to be able to launch TS' Icarus Scramjets and the F-4 Phantom II's had their armaments swapped for tracking and radar equipment. When a scramjet is launched three of the five F-4's stay with the C-17 and two of the five F-4 Phantoms follow after the Scramjet to track it and monitor it. After the Icarus Scramjet is done testing, it bleeds speed and deploys a parachute to a landing area. Two of the Phantoms stay with it until a TS recovery team comes in via helicopter to recover it and bring it back to one of the test site facilities. Their main goals are corporate production and advancement of aeronautic, robotic, and electronic technologies. The Tacticus Solutions Security Sector is there to ensure nobody tries to do any harm to the Tacticus Solutions Corporate Sector.
Also a map of Russmenika, it's super old but still holds.

You should have to earn it if you plan on your nation being fuck huge. However you should definitely be able to start out with some territory that varies in size in what your faction is. But Volf and Johau's faction have a ridiculous amount of land they didn't really do anything for.
So, wait, is VU dead or is that just a new sub-faction?
[editline]iggle piggle[/editline]
This whole nations thing is why I avoided the concept; just go for the classic PMC/Criminal organisation faction formation, you can't go wrong.
So, wait, is VU dead or is that just a new sub-faction?
Just a sub-faction.
I'm with Jenkins on the whole territory issue. I do think it ought to be a bit smaller.. And if it was an ex-Soviet state, it should be more to the south, or at least touch the southern border of Russia.
Probably the best spot for it is among the other ex Soviet states like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and so on.

Does this seem like a more reasonably-sized piece of territory?
It's imperative that we're bordering Tbonia and incorporate Tunguska.
It's still a pretty significant chunk of Russia, but it's more reasonably sized than before.
I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of my territory. All I have there is just a RND compound and nothing else.
Well if the thread's got an issue with it I'm willing to shave down my territory some more. I'll admit I did carve out a waaaay too big swath of territory at first.
