Are you adding motion blur to the muzzleflashes by any chance?
Yes. motionblur's not creating a problem is it?
It is, I say. You're making something that was blurry to begin with even more blurrier. It just looks wrong.
It is, I say. You're making something that was blurry to begin with even more blurrier. It just looks wrong.
Is there a remedy for this to make the muzzleflash look good without compromising the effects motionblur does for the people and scenery?
Easy: Don't blur the muzzleflash. At all.

Extremely believable. Great job. Is this SFM?
Yeah, it's SFM. Though I did add a soft glow afterwards in photoshop due to SFM not rendering bloom.
Easy: Don't blur the muzzleflash. At all.
So I made some adjustments in the poster image by removing motionblur from Progressive Refinement. [t]http://i.imgur.com/jfb1Npt.jpg[/t] Its weird as I remember reading a guide that said to use motion blur to bring out quality in SFM content, but wasn't sure if it meant only in videos or that it excluded the use of muzzleflashes.

You need to work on your lighting a bit. The posing is cash though
Its weird as I remember reading a guide that said to use motion blur to bring out quality in SFM content, but wasn't sure if it meant only in videos or that it excluded the use of muzzleflashes.
i'm quite sure such a guide would define WHERE and HOW you're supposed to use motion blur

I've been attempting realistic lighting recently, I find it hard though.
i feel like the bloom doesn't really help with that

However I spent ~15 hours in different conditions in my backyard observing how the light was working. Anyway, might as well post this here as well. [T]http://i.imgur.com/VebpS7W.jpg[/T]

edit: Removed cause reasons
Toying around with getting the assets from an obscure Source-based Japanese arcade game into a form where SFM users can find them useful. I like how this test turned out. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZsFoUbu.jpg[/t] Also I guess this goes in here, the Pictures Of Soldiers Standing Around Doing Nothing Thread. Was (poorly) porting a Doom 3-themed CSS Zombie mod map to SFM, gave it a quick spin to see if it worked. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0WHNVwM.jpg[/t]
