I had a good start, and then once I added that second blur I realized I had entered over editing hell. It only went downhill from there. I might reedit and frame this one, since I like the scene, but it's just. Blehg

Thanks, Good adivce. However, these models don't actually have arms or shoulders. The hands and feet are just there with no appendages under the tunic. So, if i could, i would have definitely fixed the shoulder positioning. As for the lighting, the map itself was quite bright already, so it was hard to light the scene without it looking like a supernova had just occured 5 feet away from them.

Thought it was an actual painting for a solid few seconds of examining. Great job in post. Love this kind of thing.

i tried somewhat a portrait
Theres something really off about those faces, I think its the eyes.
It's like they want to be Asian, but they just can't quite get there...

I think there's too much noise and DOF, the color palette is dull as well as the overall posture/facial expression. A white light in replacement of the yellow one would help the red stand out and make it more visually stimulating.
Made these two after following Soul_'s lighting tutorial.

Thought of this when I was working on this, how much better is it?

You just kind of went polar opposite there. Are those eyes deliberately unsettling?

What's wrong with them?

The model's eyes don't look set up correctly to me. They look incredibly flat and uninteresting.
Been awhile since i posted here.

I love this, the colors are subtle and effective. I think however that unless that moon has an extremely dark surface, the sun (that's lighting up the horizon's atmosphere) would also give it a stronger rim light at its lower half.

Didn't find any way to do it for that effect prop unfortunately.
