You need to fingerpose. Make the hands look like they're connecting.

Yea, just noticed the hand around the sniper looks off and the grenade launcher doesn't really fit his hand that well, so I might move it around a bit.
Thanks for the advice.

the DoF doesn't really need to be there. generally if a character is aiming at something on-screen you should be able to see what it is.
Pretty damn awesome. The illusion is sort of popped as soon as you zoom into the lava though and see the splashes are more like 2D brushes. Everything else is great. You should try creating a similar pic with lava and thread it.
yeah i was super lazy with the splashes and just threw them on, this was a model test anyway. if i make a proper scene i'll be sure to pay more attention to the details.
I had one as well since SFM crashed 5 fucking times untill i managed to render the damn thing.
Out of curiosity, how long would a render like that take for your resolution?
Interesting. I wonder how much faster it'd be with 0 DOF. Does it tell you what it works on during renders (lights/AO/DOF?), or is it a black box info wise?

Where'd the Knights come from in the second point?

They're from Ninja Nub's pack, word of warning. Their facial textures are a bit off
What do you mean, i'm talking about the jpeg compression

I didn't know about this.
I think I'm having PTSD flashbacks to every single low quality screenshot I have taken now.
ALL THE WASTED YEARS. AHHHHH-

The placement of the moustache is bothering me, it's too low.
Using Hauptmann's BIA ports, I made a little scenebuild to start improving in that regard. I also tried to work with lamps a lot more and realistically lighting a scene. I'm still working on it but it's a work in progress. How can refine the shadows to look less fuzzy and more sharp? I already use r_projectedtexture_filter and all that jazz but there must be a way to push beyond that. The fuzz is annoying.

Jesus Christ the first one looks stellar, my only gripe is that you used these old-ass germans.

I know, it's a bit of an odd choice but I was having a big nostalgia trip with everything. Although they're significantly low poly compared to what else there is, I still find them pretty "decent" as far as source goes. Good point all the same though!
I actually liked how these poses ended up
