Using Hauptmann's BIA ports, I made a little scenebuild to start improving in that regard. I also tried to work with lamps a lot more and realistically lighting a scene. I'm still working on it but it's a work in progress. How can refine the shadows to look less fuzzy and more sharp? I already use r_projectedtexture_filter and all that jazz but there must be a way to push beyond that. The fuzz is annoying.

What do you mean by fuzzy?
I actually liked how these poses ended up

Woah, those are the Day of Infamy models.
Where'd you snag them?

WIP
especially noticeable on the clothing. It looks like rubber
I got them straight out of the game files and I'm working to get them to show up properly. I've changed the pbr shaders and now I need to work on the Phong because I seem to have used the wrong VMT for the american clothing

So I saw Ghost in the Shell the other day.
Once again another image that looked fine in-game then turned out dark as balls.

Testing of the newly improved EM4 varient, the SA70, has begun in Scotland among the bogs and moors to test for issues and problems that may arise. The .280 British cartridge is the standard as usual however NATO ammunition using variants are being produced for the rest of the Imperial Federation and the global market.
I did a little research on it and found that source can only go so far with shadows and fuzzy edges are something to be expected. That's what I was concerned about. I guess with a little tweaking you can only mitigate it and not rid it entirely.
Aye. I found r_projectedtexturefilter 0 helped me the most with that.

Where did you get those ruined brick walls? Nice scenebuild by the way.

World of Tanks building pack http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=583054165
that actually looks rather good despite Source's dogshit default lighting. you should try building in an unlit map and experiment with lamps though.
Just a test of different times of day and scenes (gonna expand into bigger scenebuilds)

The only reason why I used these guys is because they have just enough shiny phong to kinda give off a wet material effect:

All of these works are amazing, Jim.

CoD 3 models don't seem to be that bad (the HD version of course), and those seem to feet that image really well too

That lighting is absolutely stellar
i wouldn't go as far as calling it's stellar - it's good but somehow lacks depth, and the Source trademark cheap bloom kills it to me

(It's 4k flipped on it's side, so clicky for higher res)
Far more concerned with the post work I did than the actual pose and lighting.
That gunner is so good at his job his MG-42 is about to turn into a DLT-19

How did you make that tripod? I know there USED to be an MG34 from RO2 with a tripod, but that was taken down a while back. I could be wrong though.
I love how crisp it looks and the heated barrel is pretty awesome. Slick stuff!

I ported it myself since the one Beat the Zombie ported way back in 2011 was indeed taken down. I'll release it with a bunch of misc stuff later this week.
So again, I wanted to make a large scale scenebuild for the first time in a while. Lighting and lamps on this scale is still a challenge (hit or miss in general though) I honestly have yet to master but I'm getting there.

Great work, how many lamps you used in this one?
For some reason that picture reminds me of some mission on the first Brothers in Arms game.
I still have BTZ's Red Orchestra 2 big port dump with all the weapons, ragdolls and stuff. If anyone wants it, I can post a link for it
That would be great.
