So I'm experienced with indoor scene-builds, I know how to do the lighting correctly there. On this outdoor pose, I even used some of my real-life knowledge on physics to try and simulate sun light and it's reflection, but I just can't get it right.

I honestly feel like I'm back at where I started, can I get some more help?
This is the type of lighting I'm going for.
If you're planning on imitating direct sunlight on a clear day go with a 255 255 255 colored lamp shining at the scene from as far away as the lamp allows with as little fov as possible, so it JUST covers your scene. Now you'd want to predict light bounce: spawn lights with color equivalent to the illuminated scatterer's color so it illuminates certain elements from the point of the sunlight's direct illumination. Meaning if you have a person standing on grass, you're going to want to place a grass colored light below him to replicate light bounce correctly, with brightness correlated to that of the grass
Make the sunlight consistent across the landscape

Try making the light warmer by adding more red to the mix. Also, perhaps make it wider so it more evenly covers the scene as the sun would. The shadows in your ref are pretty soft so, if you want that effect, use two lights: one "key" light to illuminate the scene and a weaker "fill" light to make it less severe.

Second one is super nice.

So in my case I would want a yellow-ish tinted light for the sand, green for the trucks, light-blue for the spartan and a weak white light for the marines?

So I would do the same thing that VIoxtar suggested, but with a little bit of red added to each color? And yeah, the shadows in my pose aren't perfect. I'll try to fill in the shadows with that filling light when I get home and post the result.

We actually have landscapes like that where I live, in the northern part of the Netherlands. I've never seen someone make something similair in Garry's Mod. Looks great! Where did you get the terrain, trees and rocks from? I'm struggling with outdoor scene-builds because I lack resources, and I can't find the right ones in the scene-building pack.
Random idea I had, probably looked better in my head but...

this should never happen

and it looks bad to boot, the lighting is flat - put higher intensity light sources above/behind/on the sides while having lower powered lights in the middle/in front - and you should've inflated the heads to make them look even SOMEWHAT (stretching the term here) fitting
and what is with the left one's pose? what is that? is it... flexing? looks like something from Deviantart. i smell furries/scalies. they're wearing man-portable tanks, not speedos, no-one is going to check them out, what is that thing trying to do? it makes me feel molested. burn it. soak it in a napalm and white phosphorous mixture and throw a lit match at it.
what is it with people and sticking argonian heads on stuff anyway
We had those Argonian crysis 2 marines a few years back which made no sense at all and there's been plenty of other stuff in a similar vein
by the fucking Emperor's corroded vertebrae that's all i say
