Because the orange stuff in those aren't just randomly place splotches of color.
Are you sure that's what you tried? Because the orange stuff in those aren't just randomly place splotches of color.
In this image I based on BF4: Dawnbreaker map. Due this there are big orange spots. It's the sun light. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/6Mi4VfMid98/maxresdefault.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/hr8FANSiovo/maxresdefault.jpg
those were probably specially crafted to the images rather than using befunky photo editor to put a filter over the picture
what was at first a particle test went extremely overboard with the suggestions of a friend of mine
dreadnoughts don't have bare heads. it's not even a head, it's a sensor unit that helps the entombed perceive his surroundings like he did in life. the head and the rest of the body are deep inside the metal box.

I haven't played the bf4/3 games but the artistic style with the bokeh is very neat.
i know people have a tendency for mocking bf3/4 aesthetics but those are never random splotches of color theyre bokeh lights blurred out, either from actual moving car lights to fire not random orange filters like its some dumb stock instagram filter
I think in some cases like the shot of the inside of a train car they're supposed to be tracers too.

^ While lighting is good, it's hard to figure out what to concentrate on, the helmet face is a bit too blurry but the arm of the guy on the right is very sharp. So which one do I focus on? Hand or face? Causes focus problem despite the great lighting.

So... following your advices I did a new pic. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/bc25uvc.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lcjsruD.jpg[/thumb]
Well it's better than the first one, although it still need some work.
Way too empty.
[T]http://i.cubeupload.com/aNlQS3.jpg[/T]
Looks great, I love the lighting and the smoke at the bottom of the image. Only thing that's off is how the bullets and the ragdoll clip with the floor.
Pics
I would darken the borders, especially where there are brighter areas under white text

[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/bc25uvc.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lcjsruD.jpg[/thumb]
Humans are a point of focus, and they should be centered in the middle or the corners. Your position makes the viewer confused, and it keeps the balance down. Pretty much the same reason why people shouldn't cut the person's face in half.
Had a good GMod session today. Brought me back to the excitement of the old days again. "What's the hold up?" My first scenebuild on gm_black:

I saved the scenebuild. If you have any advice on how to make this look better, please tell me.
You gotta put the pics in the Public folder, not Photos
