Idk what happened with the squids, they suddenly became transparent.

If you want to add real ropes to your scene (in case you want accurate shadows/textures/etc) you can do what i did and take the normal hl2:e2 cable model, use the ragdoll resizer (look for it on the workshop) to scale it accordingly, and then the ragdoll mover to carefuly position it, then apply any texture/material you want to it. It's a total bitch to add, but it definitely has its ups imo
[del]Sadly I don't have EP2 and I can't find the content anywhere.[/del] Thanks Ninja
I would say just use the gmod ropes and then add their shadows in photoshop, it shouldn't be too hard, just need some dark soft lines below the ropes.
The problem is not that they don't cast shadows, but it's that they stay unlit with mat_fullbright 0 on gm_black, even with a lamp directed on them.

it's bad
I hope you don't mind me asking this question but it's really bothering me.
This section has kind of turned into a bit of a ghost town, why are you all posting your stuff in this thread instead of making threads for it? 90% of the stuff on this very page is threadworthy while 50% of the threads getting posted aren't.
Come on 2 years ago people made threads for the most stupid shit so this thread was needed but it kind of went into the wrong direction.
Atleast thats how I feel about it. If people see this section is active more people will probably join in again.
You're right, a couple of years ago the section got thrice as many new threads as it does now. You're the example of the toad being placed in water that's already hot, while we already got used to this.
We should all make an effort to default to making a new thread whenever we put out new content, and keep our work-in-progress pictures and pose tests to this thread. I know I will from now on.
Maybe we should put up a poll to change the title of this and future threads?
Or why not a thread for each user's stuff ?
The other half of that argument, in my opinion, is the lack of receptive audiences to begin with. Sure, I could post my thread and it could get some ratings but it'll die shortly afterward due to a lack of comments. I'm not saying people should be forced to reply to a thread but I feel like the audience's interaction is so minimal that you might as well just add it to the collections here for easy viewing.
I don't know, that's been my peeve. I don't care for ratings but having people comment about a picture shows that someone out there appreciated the work beyond a ghost rating. Back in the day threads used to be rated on a scale of 1-5. 5 being the best. I believe it accumulated based on people's overall comments and rating to go with the comment to average out the score. I thought that was pretty neat.
That's exactly the reason why I avoid making threads, they end up being totally ignored most of the time.
I personally think threads are less likely to be ignored than posts here

Totally agree. I'd rather comment on a thread.
It also kind of lets people put more effort in their pictures if they get their own thread IMO.

I'd post more photos but I'm shit and people tell me it. So it's kinda killed my motivation. Love viewing and saving the pictures and commenting on them though.
Took some slight inspiration from something i just watched.

Has anyone got any good tips for night time lighting?

Have lots of very faint blue lights.

C&C happily taken
weird that the blade is running even if he's not in active combat. puts unnecessary stress on the axe's engine i'd wager.
what were you going for with the pose? he doesn't look particularly threatening, like a World Eater should

i was trying to go for a 'just got back from butchering a trio of ultramarines' kind of pose, which may be why the chain-axe is still active, and there COULD be more ultramarines off-screen.
well the pose is rather awkward - makes it look like like he's holding an active chainaxe for the first time in his life (highly unlikely, obviously).

might be due to the fact i was trying to go for a less-awkward two-handed pose, but yeah, i'm starting to see what you're seeing
the World Eaters don't go into combat upright, professionally, with their backs straight; they charge right at the enemy without any sense of self-preservation, often hunched over like beasts. i would've done something like this:

why do they not wear helmets but charge head first
it's the stormtrooper effect: faceless helmet-wearing guys always die in droves, so a smart guy picks the opposite option to avoid getting slaughtered without getting even a sidenote in the credits
(the real reason is that they don't care)
