Papa Smurf is recovering. Beware the almighty Matt Ward! [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/VanguardLithius/GuillimansRestSteam.jpg[/t]
In a few hours, a new (well, new-ish) Duke Nukem project will be revealed to the world after a lengthy absence from the public eye following the… unfortunate previous game. The big question is… will anybody still care? [t]http://i.imgur.com/cibjVfy.jpg[/t]

Idk, I think the light source is propably too high to shine on top of the trees. edit:
Papa Smurf is recovering. Beware the almighty Matt Ward! [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/VanguardLithius/GuillimansRestSteam.jpg[/t]
this is absolutely awesome
it's not the effect that's bad, it's the positioning of the flashlight in the scene. the light is awkwardly positioned in the bottom-center of a pretty clustered image with lots of buildings and trees around, and the beam, which your eyes naturally follow, is pointed at a comparatively small and out-of-the-way part of the picture. imo it would look a lot better if you either had the flashlight being pointed at the billboard (since that's where your eyes naturally go to) and cropped down the right side of the image slightly, or cut off everything except the bottom-right portion with the power suited guys and the road.

Cone nailed it. When you take a picture, make sure that your eye is focused in the vicinity of the center. My eye keeps going from the middle to the bottom right, which is off.
Cone gave great criticism and I can see what he means, but I really wanted to light that area up and I wasn't sure how to do it without distracting the viewer's vision

Did a thing... still trying to get the hang of lighting and shadows and stuff. Was messing around with blue and orange lights this round.
Cone gave great criticism and I can see what he means, but I really wanted to light that area up and I wasn't sure how to do it without distracting the viewer's vision
I see, if you wanna do it that way here's how you could do it. Set the lamp brightness lower and don't use the flashlight lamp but rather the soft gradient lamp when you select the type of lamp. Also lower the brightness of the lamp itself. Then you'd wanna balance the picture out by maybe lighting up the nuka cola with strong (2.00+)yellow lamps from the bottom, kind of what Cone said to balance the pic out. See how you added that tower in the distance with the yellow lamp shining on it (looks pretty), kind of like that only more of that on the top right part could work.

Was hard to get an angle that showed the entire area so I just took three.

There's shadow problems like the white tv not casting shadows on the chair and left cupboard that's closer to the viewer, but that's a gmod thing.
You really need to chill with the Chromatic Aberration dude.
Under Construction My first attempt at a scenebuild. (Thanks to VIoxtar for his great tutorial.) EDIT : Full image (puush)
For your first scenebuild, that's great. The composition is pretty much spot-on and the use of foliage doesn't look copy pasted (trees are varied and grass doesn't look duplicated)
looks amazing, but the set the image quality to 100 next time. I think the console command is jpeg_quality 100 not sure.
And if you insist on using imgur as a host then make sure your filesize is under 2MB or it'll be compressed.
And if you insist on using imgur as a host then make sure your filesize is under 2MB or it'll be compressed.
Updated the post with a puush image (barely noticeable difference, though).
[t]https://my.mixtape.moe/netsru.jpg[/t]
That looks so good! I need to step my game up. amazing job by the way.
[t]http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/ede8dd59c0a8.jpg[/t] Playing lots of MOH:RS lately so
Miscellaneous pose I made for a pistol release pic. I'm proud of the lighting, didn't expect it to look that good. [t]https://i.imgur.com/vcyWzDN.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/241FaFk.jpg[/t]

These are my first two poses with SFM.
Adjust the render settings so the aperture does not look that bad.
