I really need C&C guys.
Assuming you're using lamps to fill in shadows, don't. Use dim lights.
[editline]8th October 2016[/editline]
And if you're going to pose a guy pointing, have his finger actually point. I'm also noticing the colours on your lamps look really faded. Experiment with muted colours sure but at the moment it just looks muddy.
That guy's eyes are terrifying.
I'm hoping that was the idea.

By doing that he'll lose all of his shadow accumulations though
By doing that he'll lose all of his shadow accumulations though
What?
Because lights don't cast shadows, they'll leak light into all the spots that would otherwise be dark (where shadows would accumulate). Shadow accumulations help with perception of certain geometries. It's what ambient occlusion tries to replicate, (AO never really reflects how light behaves in more complicated scenes though). The name 'light tool' is misleading because it's just basic shaders. In most cases, putting lights in a scene will most likely hold it back rather than improve it (IMO)
I decided to write more about it and give an example I thought was nice here on page 6.

I'm always coming up with some new concept every time I fire up Gmod, and I felt like fleshing this one out a little more. It's not exactly the most original idea but whatever. The gist of it is that some cataclysmic event happens in the near future and a bunch of military powers end up occupying one of the only safe cities left. They divide it among themselves and each district is like its own country (Think Vekta City in Killzone Shadowfall). Outside the secured areas the rest of the city is pretty much a ruin infested by mutants. It's not really specified what causes them other than some undefined mutagen (obviously) that might have been a bioweapon deployed during the war that preceded the apocalypse. Anyway, I just felt like making bios for the different kinds of mutants. Category 1 are humanoid mutants that are intelligent, Category 2 are humanoid mutants that have devolved into feral creatures, and Category 3 mutants are creatures that used to be animals. Consider this like my homage to the late World Divided.
*In order from left to right*
Category 1~
1. Referred to as "Greys" because of the discoloration of their flesh, these are the least mutated of the Category 1 mutants. The Greys are as intelligent as their human counterparts; capable of verbal communication, social organization, coordinated tactics, and the use of firearms. Many Greys are neutral toward humanity, preferring to live and let live. Others are outright hostile for reasons that can't be fully understood. Greys have somewhat of a tribal nature and tend to stick together in close-knit communities, each with their own customs and attitudes regarding the new world.
2. These creatures are designated as "Flayers" due to their nasty penchant for stripping the skin from their victims (Boltons represent). The Flayers sport more prominent physical mutations than the Greys, so to the point that they barely resemble the humans they once were. Flayers are cannibalistic in nature, viewing humanity as a food source and nothing else. They are clearly intelligent (therefore being classified as Category 1) and display a tribal tendency much stronger than that of the Greys. They refuse to associate with either human or Grey, and will attack either on sight. Their hands are mutated to the point that it is impossible for them to use firearms, so the Flayers' weapons of choice are those that can slice and dice.
Category 2~
3. Simply referred to as "Zombies" due to their behavior (though obviously not undead). Zombies are humans that have depreciated both mentally and physically to the point of near brain-death, retaining only their basic motor functions. Zombies are blind, their eyes having rotted away long ago; they rely upon sound and smell to find their prey. Despite their emaciated appearance, Zombies are deceptively agile and can chase a target down at frightening speeds. They are also capable of using bludgeoning and cutting weapons, though their aim with them leaves something to be desired. Zombies can be found roaming the back alleys of the city, searching for their next meal.
4. Known as "Mummies" because of their resemblance to an embalmed corpse, this type of mutant is a further degradation from a Zombie. The muscle mass on these mutants has atrophied to the point where most are not capable of supporting themselves on two legs, and instead scutter about on all fours. Mummies are nocturnal, opting to remain in abandoned buildings and underground until nightfall. No one quite knows why the Mummies prefer to move about at night, though it adds to the danger the represent. Their appearance would lead one to believe that they are too weak to present a threat, though they would be dead wrong. Mummies can dash at lightning speed on all fours, and their fingers have rotted away into jagged claws of bone which can rip and tear the flesh of their victims with shocking ease. Mummies are not intelligent, though they are known to hunt in packs.
5. One of the most dangerous Category 2 mutations, these horrors are colloquially known as "Nesters" due to the fact that large groups of them can be found in the same locations during the day. Nesters resemble Mummies, though their limbs have been distorted into grotesque forms suited to killing prey. The bones in their hands have elongated into sharp claws, and in some cases have fused into one long talon. They are fast and capable of tearing through body armor with ease. Nesters prefer to make their home deep underneath the city in the myriad sewers and subway tunnels. No one knows why Nesters prefer to dwell underground, though it's speculated that they prefer the stillness of the tunnels in order to hear prey more clearly. They are an oddity in the sense that despite being Category 2 mutants, they do exhibit pack cohesion when hunting down victims and even know to use the darkness to their advantage. Not only this, but there have been reports of Nesters furiously attacking human and even other mutant incursions in certain areas of the underground. This has lead to the theory that Nesters may share a sort of hive mind like that of ants or bees, and their rabid assaults may have been in defense of their "nexus". Whatever the case, Nesters rarely leave the underground, and encounters with them often come to a gruesome end.
6. Called "Spiders"; virtually nothing is known about these mutants. There is much debate as to whether these beings actually exist or are merely myths, as no human has ever encountered one and lived to tell the tale. Humans only know of them from whispers heard among the Greys in their camps. They are described as being almost 6 feet tall on all fours (10 standing on their hind legs), possessing six limbs, and being of a ghostly pale complexion.
Category 3~
7. Dogs were not exempt from the effects of the mutagen. Those exposed to it have mutated into terrifying aberrations, and hunt through the city streets in packs. Do not attempt to pet.
8. Having already been a problem in the area before the catastrophe, wild boars are even more of a menace now. Adorned with an array of ferocious tusks and other bony protrusions, these boars are highly territorial and will slaughter anything that encroaches upon their turf. Being omnivorous by nature, their increased size and hostility has turned them into vicious predators that will gladly turn a human into a meal. They can grow to various sizes, with the largest on record being a pair of brothers (Dubbed "Fleetwood" and "Mac") standing at over 3 meters tall.
9. Bearing no resemblance to any species whatsoever, these creatures are simply called "Bugs". They are mainly scavengers, though have been known to attack live prey if they are of sufficient size. Bugs will often avoid conflict with humans or other mutants, though there have been reports of exceedingly large Bugs attacking human patrols from time to time. Bugs tend to stay underground, though it's not uncommon to see them ranging about the surface in search of sustenance. No one knows how large they can grow to.
10. No one knows what species these creatures evolved from, though they have earned the moniker "Scorpions" due to their resemblance to the arachnid. Scorpions dwell underground, establishing large colonies of potentially thousands. They come above ground at night to forage for food, and are a common nuisance even in the secured parts of the city. Their stinger carries a potent neurotoxin that rapidly necrotizes the tissue surrounding the affected area, essentially causing the flesh to melt right off the bone. Their exoskeleton is exceptionally resilient, able to withstand most small-caliber ammunition, though larger pistol and most rifle

It was p hard to see if they were floating or not, because the ground textures was really weird.
I'm more concerned about his broken trigger finger.

OH GOD I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE I NEED MANA
So I uh, make tanks in sandbox. I recently wanted to get all artsy with showcasing some of my builds. I used to do SFM little under a year ago and tried remembering what I learnt there while doing these pictures. Ive also got some questions to those who might know the answer.
1) Any easier way to pose stuff, bone mover is clunky for me.
2) Anywhere I can quickly brush up on lighting? I've forgotten quite a bit since last using SFM.
Anyway, without further ado.

A cold day on the patrol, scouting ahead for the invasion soon to come.
It's a soviet T 55 MBT from the Cold War. A recent refit of a somewhat dated tank I built, since this was built whilst I was learning and tweaking a lot of my techniques it quickly became outdated. So I fixed it and now it kicks butt.

There's a loud engine sound in the distance... Reports of a large German tank are coming from the radio.
This is a German Maus super heavy tank from WW2. This is a 181 ton monster, its coaxial is a 75mm short cannon for christs sake! Loads of armor and is fairly quick for its weight.

Theres several Russian 34s 2 kilometers out north, this big 8.8 will stop them for sure. (Translation from German)
Another German tank, this time a King Tiger. It's fairly old in comparison to my new tanks but I thought I'd still show it off. 60 tons, 8.8mm cannon, lots of slopes, wheels and is pretty quick.
Thanks all, bai o7
EDIT : Ive been reading VIoxtar's very useful document and I've been wondering. Any way to do this without Photoshop? I use paint.NET and suck hardcore at gimp.
