Faded into depths of hell without being referenced by the sticky. I'm surprised at you, FP!
How do i do this?
used this method and god it makes glados' p2 chamber port look so much sexier
Screens?
The new shadow is there but the default is over it.
huh?

map is designed so that glados specifically doesnt cast the default shadow shes completely on dynamic shadow from the lamp
So its the map?
there is no default shadow, yes
How can i remove it from other maps?
-snip, bad reading-
On the second photo, how come there are slight diagonal lines across the concrete?
How can i remove it from other maps?
You mean the horrible stacking source shadows? There's this wonderful tool. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=107632
Just what I ordered.
Thankyou for this information
Even though this thread is 2 weeks or so old, im bumping this in hope it gets stickied. Its really useful info everybody who does posing should know.
Should I pm Starpluck and ask that a link to this thread be put in the sticky?
Seems like projectedtexture filter is bugged for me or something. Set to lower than 1 causes the shadows to disappear completely..
I'm bumping this up for how great it really is. People who have not seen this really need to. You can produce some amazing looking stuff with these settings if you tweak them a little bit so and so. Thanks so much for such a good guide!

I would've never know about this without this thread so thanks a lot
I know it's out of place, but nobody answered in Support forum. My posing detail distance is always the same,I tried to change it using cl_detaildist , cl_detailfade , cl_maxrenderable_dist,even the in-game tweaks, but the detai still fading away in short distance, somebody know how to fix this?

This is awesome. Somebody should make a stool for setting up the lamps, so we can change it's FOV and shit ingame. That would be hell of useful.

I'll talk to MaxOfS2D about when the advanced lamp stool will be publicly released, if such a thing isn't included with gmod 13.
Thanks for the tutorial. This combined with an extra-low mipmap level makes for some nice closeup shots.
What is mipmap?
the information in this thread has opened me to a world of possibilities are there any other commands that people can use to improve the quality of their screenshots?
Sorry for the bump, but the whole FOV thing is kinda confusing me, I'm not entirely understanding what exactly it changes.
Sorry for the bump, but the whole FOV thing is kinda confusing me, I'm not entirely understanding what exactly it changes.
It makes the light cover a wider area. A small FOV would make it very focused and small, like a spotlight - a high FOV will make it very wide to cover a large area, like a floodlight.
Hasn't anyone talked to a moderator about stickying this thread?
Hasn't anyone talked to a moderator about stickying this thread?
I second this.
I second this.
I'm in favor. Shocking, isn't it?
