Me, Rebel and Aki have been working on something special for the WW2 tank event.

Northrop F-20 Tigershark. Those who know the story understand why this plane's special, but some might need the full explanation. The Tigershark is developed from the Northrop F-5. which was a small, twin-engined jet fighter intended for U.S. allies and training, it was a very simple, barebones plane intended for export only. When more advanced Soviet jets started appearing in the skies, Northrop began developing an upgraded version of the F-5, which became the F-20. The F-20 was equipped with a single, much larger, more powerful engine which increased the plane's performance, and it was equipped with more advanced radar and weapons allowing it to be competitive with modern soviet or american jets.
The F-20 was a successful prototype, it was cheap, it was modern, and we were ready to sell them to our allies. So what went wrong? Well, no one bought the plane, and the US Government focused their efforts on the F-16 fighter instead. Only 3 F-20s saw production, and according to those who flew the plane (Or the marketers, at least), it might have been one of the best planes of its era.

When it comes to my model, it's reasonably manuverable, it can carry a variety of bombs and missiles, and overall its a good multi-purpose plane. It's the first of my planes due to receive more advanced weapons systems in the future, when me and my friends finish developing them. I intend to use this plane as a replacement for my "FL1 Sparrow", my current frontline fighter, which readers of the ACF Wiki might know.
Where's the logic in using a limited production fighter as an airforce mainstay? I dunno. Some things I have planned for the future are so out-there that this will look reasonable.

Cockpit is bare because it's waiting for instrument panels, still WIP.

Oh hey, here's one of those out-there planes right now. This is a Grumman X-29, a highly experimental, forward-swept wing, canard fighter made in the 80's by Grumman. By the nature of its unusual design, the X-29 has inherent instability which required the use of three flight computer systems. In 1984. This plane is kept from crashing by computers comparable to a Super Nintendo.
Of course, instability is desirable in planes like this, the X-29 was very, very maneuverable in its flight tests, althought it was somewhat limited in special maneuvers by its computer system and control surfaces. Only two were built, they weren't candidates for mass production. Both are now in museums.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/0OzhWtB.jpg[/t]
Not like I need an excuse for flying what I want in an internet video game baby toy, but this plane follows a similar role to the IRL plane; it's a tech tester which gets modified when I experiment with new combat systems and not really a combat craft. When it comes to handling, I made it more agile than the F-20 but slower (Smaller engine).
[t]http://i.imgur.com/UGJtP51.jpg[/t]
The cockpit is identical to the F-20 so here's a Hellcat instead. Hard to believe these two planes are only 41 years apart, the pace of aircraft development was so extreme during the cold war.
Things to do next: A-6 Intruder is first on the list, maybe something swing wing, small passenger liner perhaps.
Quick update on King Derp

Now all we need is a gif of that thing sneezing on some poor unlucky little medium or light that happened to get careless.
I'm not sure if this counts as a wip post, but a friend suggested that I should post this here, hope you take a liking to it.

Trucks. Basically using em as a slightly-heavier alternative to custom towed mounts. Both have a map in the cabin they can fire off of (predicted fire) and are, when the motor is off, only 2 unparented props, weighing less than 8t both. I think one's 6.5 and one 7. 105 howitzer and 150mm mortar.
[T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/89344691201027440/C4B6DA55EF1372526D006A3178F8CB65D4F1A4F9/[/T]
30t tank and 20t twin 57mm SPAAG (shown in video). The 30t carries 10 AP, 10 APHE, and 10 reduced-size HE rounds, as well as 10 25sa magazines (using 25sa as a roof AA weapon) and around 500 12.7 MG bullets (read: not just AP gun rounds). The SPAAG uses flechette rounds and carries enough magazines for 11 10-round bursts. It's expected that an estimated 1-2 bursts will take out an aircraft in a relatively low-lag environment. The tank is well protected, the AAA can withstand autocannon fire or small-caliber cannons frontally. Both of these have a parented-to-holo quick-open engine compartment, to enable quick field repairs or dickwave more effectively.

Armored cars all on the same 10-12t chassis. Twin 37 AAA for ground/air use, 120mm mortar w/ map for predicted fire, 20RAC for light anti-air, a 9-tube rocket artillery with 2 salvo reloads, twin Ataka carrier on an extending mount (shown extended, it retracts on a hydro into the body and sits next to the driver along the wall), and an APC with a door that opens with a button push. Armor on all is against light automatic cannon fire, varying slightly with each variant.

Artillery. 20t 200mm mortar, 30t 155mm howitzer, 30t 140mm counter-battery gun. Each has a map for predicted fire. The mortar carries 9 rounds, with a standard fire unit of 3 rounds, and a max range of around 500m. The howitzer has a range of around 700m with HE and carries 8 rounds of HE, with a standard fire unit of 2 rounds; it also has several APHE rounds for antitank or long-range fire, with lots of HE filler, and a canister round. All are acceptably mobile, front-engined with neutral steer and full speed reverse.

Pushing community drama back where it belongs. 10t tractor/dozer built off the 30t tank chassis mated to a modified truck's cab, with two truck engines. The scraper blade does lower and automatically lock into place, and it can push a solid amount of weight. I've freed stuck tanks with it. Engine bay.
All have prebuilt range tables so the ballistics code is of miniscule impact on server, with low-angle data stored as vectors to reduce localization calls. When the motor is turned off, the wheels freeze. This makes them act like parented props and go to sleep to reduce lag and server load. As the biggest culprit of server lag 99% of the time is unparented props, this shit really helps and is stupid simple to implement, basically reduces the lag of a vehicle to that of a stationary turret (about an 80-90% reduction). All have lead computation based off player aim; I'm using a floating mean algorithm with a sample time of about 0.5s, so it takes 1/2 a second for the lead input to stabilize on a straight-moving target. All can perform semi-indirect fire (aiming in a direction, adding range data into the ballistic computer, and firing), and have a spotting system similar to alms' where you press, in my case, shift-e to target something, and I can fire upon it. In addition the twin 57 can perform very rudimentary anti-missile defense, taking ballistic data from the radar in the turret. The little commanders sight head rotates and is where the aim in first person cam comes out of when not zoomed in; the parented manhack scope looking things on some of them are actually where the zoomed in camera moves, and the low-prop holo sights are mechanically linked to the guns on-the-fly.
Shit's still pretty low in cpu usage, a lot of state machines and event-based code, although when I was screwing around on FRS a few days ago with memory allocation calls and shit even forcing from other e2s high cpu usage didn't affect the server much. It's mostly just bad engine calls that create all the real slowdown, like excessive use of rangers, lots of setang at high rate, etc, the actual "effect" of computing numbers is really way lower than I expected. I need to do a tutorial sometime on lag reduction.

Oh before I forget, this does some magic that makes your builds sometimes less floppy. Slap it on once and let it do its thing before saving final copy.

Explanation:
Constraint table placement apparently affects strength of a contraption, what this does is removes all your nocollides on parented props and saves them into a huge array, then reapplies them to the entity's parent. This shifts them to the bottom of the constraint tree and removes multiple nocollides on parented props (which increases spawn time).
It has minimal effect if you parent without nocollides, but really you should as a rule of thumb in my personal opinion and gmodding experience. Nocollides don't add any computational overhead (source performs collision checks anyway, it's literally just a flag), and provide an easy way of adding to a constraint tree an
no the reason shit gets floppy when it has shittons of constraints is because gmod holds them in arrays of about 100 for whatever reason so once you start going over 100 constraints, anything that overflows the array gets put into a separate one which causes physics malfunctions and sagging.
hey everyone, I'm feeling quite under the weather today.
Everybody is telling me to fuck off at the moment and I can't build good things on my own, despite having 1 year experience.
I made this aircraft terminal thing for a plane that I was going to build with someone but they just dont fucking care anymore.
nobody does.

Lucky cunts, why can't I be normal for once.
Also I tried making a plane, turned into a fucking castle wall. again.
It might not be directly gmod related, but I just have to show it.

3d printing the V12 finally. I did it before but the filament jammed, and that's probably a good thing cause I forgot to turn on supports on that run.

Carries 8 shots... I think. Indirect fire-by-map, 50km/h speedy, parking brake.
I also updated an old goldie of mine, a little aircraft I call the Stork. Now uses MPFC v7 to fly and flies well on it, and I even went and added a turret on it.

Yes, that's a 40mm grenade rifle (ACF 40mmGL) aimed by the pilot. I have my reasons for it, and I won't bother you with what they are. It does 130km/h level flight usually, and is very nimble and easy to handle. Effectively it's a classic turret fighter in this config.
