Hope this isn't off-topic to the thread but I recently bought a 1070 as an upgrade from an R9 270X that was overclocked. I was [I][B]hoping[/B][/I] to see an increase in FPS for GMod especially, even if ever so slightly, on high prop builds but it seems its going the opposite direction. I'll get about the same if not less FPS when looking at something that's over 400 props. Is there anything I might be doing wrong? Maybe there's something I can enable to help with FPS in NVidia's control panel?
gmod's limitation has never been on the gpu side but rather the cpu side
I recently talked to Divran about the way Wiremod loaded E2 functions. Previously, E2 would load all the extensions and functions the moment you opened the E2 editor which meant that E2's using a varied selection of functions wouldn't work out of the box if you joined a server and spawned your contraption. Such E2's would require the client to open the E2 editor before spawning the contraption, in order to get the functions to be loaded, or a manual reset of the affected E2's. I asked Divran if it was possible to load the functions on connection and while I didn't understand exactly how he changed the function loading, E2's using said functions will now be able to open out of the box. That means you won't have to refresh E2's using functions such as concmd, fileWrite / fileRead / fileLoad before they work anymore. tl;dr update your server's (github) Wiremod if you want to get rid of the manual refresh for functions such as concmd and fileRead / fileWrite / fileLoad.

So if you don't here are a few: gmod_mcore_test 1 mat_queue_mode -1 cl_threaded_bone_setup 1 r_3dsky 0 r_shadows 0 I have a file that enables that on startup which boosts your performance even further. I remember building them out of wooden and breakable props. Did anyone say WOOD WARS !?

So it really looks like a plane. I like how by using airboats you can make seaplanes that are able to take off from water, which is nearly impossible to achieve on normal contraptions.

Please tell me though that every prop is only welded to its neighbors :v I've seen so many of these that are a complete turnoff to shoot down because of bad welding
There should be an old thread with combat rules and shit. It had also a spawnlist with breakable props. I usually weld only the wings and tail planes while the rest is just parented. Wire turrets hit parented props so that's okay. Also make sure you are carrying an explosive prop, maybe where the engine is, for ultimate EXPLOSION REALISM. PS: will post my wood wars plane soon
What are the rules on propulsion for wood wars planes anyway? Whatever plane I build will probably revolve around it's propulsion system, because speed is life.

But I think it's okay to boost the performance a bit if you're having problems taking off and turning. The system used to work by some kind of gmod weird physics laws and allowed to make bombs explode on contact when the melon broke. It doesn't seem to work anymore now so I made an E2 that detects if the melon is still alive, otherwise it breaks the bomb (explode). Make sure to make the melon heavier so the bomb falls nose down.
I don't know if here's the right place to ask, but... I've had issues with PAC3 groups persisting through dupes after deleting them. Running pac_restart, clearing all of PAC, and individually removing the groups does not work. I was wondering if anyone shared this issue and/or knows how to fix it?

I made a thing. Front fork/suspension is fully animated using holos. Its powered by an ACF 2.0L Rotary Engine, weighing about 500 massunits. I didnt test its maximum speed, but its quite fast. Suspension needs a bit more work, gets a little wobbly around higher speeds.
