It has a flywheel in the sense there's a cylinder around the center crank that weighs a good bit. it's really the gears, I need to reposition them so the thing isnt so leany. at full speed if I take a corner too hard I flip over. Smaller rear wheels could help a bit. something funny happens though. When I start with the larger gear, I have less speed but more torque. when I engage the smaller gear, I have more speed, at least a 10mph difference. I understand it fully, but acf has given me the mindset that bigger gear = more speed overall. and switching down from the small gear to the large slows the vehicle down. I totally get why this happens, but it just seems odd.
There's nothing weird. That's how gearing works. More torque with less speed and viceversa. Only way to increase both is having more power. By the way, have you tried putting the gears underneat the plate instead?
Made a first for me, a Combat Engineering Vehicle. It has a refill dangling on a hook, and only holding E on the hook will activate the refill to supply your bros. It can also deploy barricades that are 20mm thick, and is selectable in which side it spawns them. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KzhpsXM.jpg[/t] You can form an all-around barricade: [t]http://i.imgur.com/7ElDQw8.png[/t] Or form a line: [t]http://i.imgur.com/j734CPK.jpg[/t] Totes a 150mm mortar for general demolition and harassment as well as a 60mm smoke mortar. Should be fairly useful for point capture. Vehicle is still 30t so I can use it on Baikonur small maps, of which it will be most useful to infantry.
Does it have a spawn limit or can you just spam barricades and build an entire fortress? :v:
No limit, but I have to use them sparingly so I don't have take up the team weight limit (each weighs 600kg) Might be fun to be a combat engineer. I can get out and freeze them to deny vehicles to an area, but they can be blown up with HE rather easily. Maybe the enemy team will need engineers too with charges to remove my traps. All the while I'm slowing down the enemy team.
My 2017 version of the Plug-F Mammoth Split X Engine ( aka Sebulba's Podracer ). 296 props. The Playermodel is scaled down (30% smaller) using holo and holoAnim, as Sebulba's cockpit doesnt suit human size. Compared to my 2013 version its quite an upgrade, in looks, propcount and functionality. I would post a video of how it drives/handles, but with my internet connection it just takes waay to long to upload a video. Its still Saint Patrick's day in my timezone, here's some green [t]http://i.imgur.com/mS0xIlf.jpg[/t] A Hind D? Resistant to infantry weapons, carries HEAT rocket pods and a 20mm MG (gunner use only), can carry 6 people in the back. It's a Hind. It does what Hinds do. [t]http://i.imgur.com/TmWTNBl.jpg[/t] E2 powered like all of my aircraft. It's tanky and hard to fly, really only good to support infantry. Big AA eats this thing easy [t]http://i.imgur.com/My7rXvW.jpg[/t] Panzerjager I, a 6-Ton tank destroyer built on the Panzer I chassis. About 200 were built, they were used in the Battle of France, the North Africa campaign, and Operation Barbarossa. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9BTEUWm.jpg[/t] Nimble and armed with a 50mm cannon, its only big enough to delete the tiniest of tiny tanks. Weak to every weapon in the game except 7.62s, but its fun.
So a glorified sturmpanzer eh.. Dude you should totally take a crack at making one of those bridge-laying tanks. haven't seen many of those.
I once converted 42t tank hull into a bridge layer. It used two axised plates with a rope limiter and deployment was achieved via hyds and a weld latch. The plates were 1 ton each and it could handle pretty much any MBT. Max physical weight I tested it on was 10 tons iirc.
This is one of the few tanks with suspension that I'm actually proud of. There's only a YZ lock from the baseplate to the world to keep it straight. The suspension is keeping the tank almost perfectly level all by itself.

After hours upon hours of noir songs and cigarette breaks i finally managed to finish this beauty. It's mainly inspired by the 1950-1953 Opel Kapitan series. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80342832067933040/3CA976DD16E5CDED6461AB680CDF3752CEC61D1C/[/t] [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80342832067933286/8DEA91DA1A8A837FD9A0A1A51524E06E05AD6364/[/t] [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80342832067933479/198740ADEA8BD3AD7F104724BA4857CEB1520C6D/[/t] 280 something props, with not alot of holo's, so i think it's sorta well built. Im trying to make my cars curvier for each build, this is kind of a mix of flat surfaces and curves though, but im still pretty happy with how it turned out.
The Y lock kind of makes the suspension test useless if you ask me.
I tried offscreen, and it works without any locks. I just locked it here to keep it going straight to demonstrate the movement of the suspension from a point of view outside the vehicle. I had made this .gif for my friends who aren't into gmod all that much and i guess I just decided to post it here.
Hey all! Just made a short little video about how to use PAC3 for holograms. Quite a few people ask me how I do my detail work when I wonder around servers and whine about how using the E2 editor for holograms is hard. So the alternative and really best option is PAC3. Hopefully this video explains it well enough.

Criticism will be helpful. Cheers.
Hey, so the story goes is that I have made this rather large mech recently and I do not know where to start with adding locomotion to it. I have done my share of reading and watching tutorials that the community has so graciously provided and alas, no dice. I also have been asking around to find someone who could help me with said E2 wizardry but to no avail. I would definitely do this myself but I just do not have the skills. So after that, a friend suggested that I post what I've got done so far. Yes, why would I ever post something that is not done on a WIP thread? So naturally, here it is, I hope I spark interest from what I have built so far, and please, if you have the time and are willing to help me out it would be much appreciated. Now here comes the part that people are actually going to want to look at: [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062818478/340DE9A3E0E5123C33EF5E034655DD7EED8EA55C/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062818704/CE52E30DF718EAD6930F97ECB917905C11100C12/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062819032/CF97014383DC727661A4FB54C37E91CDE3E3A33C/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062820035/7F82D8EBFD5E844D522E1D821C4AE031710B72DC/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062819224/7B8B5DB3CA6F13A2F45A861EA31A2B70DCABFD0E/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062820617/49F163C8D8B8F694CF4253539009A814C598EAA0/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062819612/2A6E66D2104C96CCC5A9DACD7AF37C0D390291F7/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062819395/D58B0394530EDAF04850483D5EE455E7F617D205/[/T][T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/94979365062819806/5E4AB7387AA39DBC0FA3FA9435D68161764222B7/[/T] Yes it is a large fort on legs it seems. For those of you interested, at the moment it sits at 192 props. At the moment it is unarmored but I feel that 75K~ tons would be a reasonable weight, it would not be too OP because the ammo would be in a pretty accessible spot in the tower to the left. Said ammo supplies 3 armaments, a 155mm Howitzer central emplacement, a starboard 120mm Short and finally a port side 57mm SA cannon. Not to stay that stepping on someone wouldn't count as a weapon. I'm planning to make this crewed hence the home-sweet-home interior. As of now it is completely sedentary and static, but I have ballsocketed the legs together such that they act similarly to how a ragdoll would. So I wouldn't need to worry about any fancy IK rigging, but just the movement of the "feet", but this has left me stumped and I am not sure how to progress. If anyone is willing to aid me with the locomotion portion of this build that would be much obliged.
It's a dive bomber I guess [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C7PB3Z9U8AIUtoY.jpg[/t] [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C7QacZfVwAEAVrC.jpg[/t] [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C7QacZZVsAAiv4w.jpg[/t]
castle w/ legs
I could've sworn I saw this years ago.
I could've sworn I saw this years ago.
Yes, this is based on something older, this to be precise: It was some ancient gmod video that actually made me want to build stuff in the game, and recently I thought I would make one of my own of similar caliber, if not better. So I took the design and remade it the best I could from the super compressed video, of course I added my own spin to it though, I wouldn't want it do be like a cheap movie reboot kinda thing. (ahem, smurfs)
