One more out of topic thing :P It was my birthday today and I got a G29 wheel :V Is there such thing as a module for gmod that can do things through this wheel?
/carthread
The V70 I was in had a cocked airfilter, so that might have been it.
[sp]I mention AC a lot because the AC compressor on the V70 must have like lead parts. Absolutely kills engine performance and fuel economy.[/sp] /carthread
AC compressors are draggy sons of bitches. Fords have, for the longest time, had a WOT cutout circuit in the system that would automatically drop the compressor when you floored it to give you back the 20-odd horsepower the damn thing hoovered up. Known first-hand in a '95 Mustang, '03 Ranger, and a '15 F250. I wouldn't be surprised if my '85 F150 had that circuit, too, it has a TPS on the carb so it could detect WOT. It's a must-have for me and I only have a pad. It has its limits...namely, each entity you spawn can only bring in eight inputs, ping lag royally fucks with you(I have runaway cars on Cre8ive all the time because sometimes it won't register that I released a control due to the ping lag I have there), and it gets glitchy at times...but it's a godsend.

behold, the LT-1 Badger. Part of the pack of tanks I'm going to give out. It's a 9 ton light tank that's fairly agile with good overall armor, and 3 variants; a 37mm early model, a 20mm armed utility carrier, and a later model 50mm model with shafted armor to keep it at 9t. All about 80 props. The reason they're 9 tons and not 10 is because the armor was too strong on the 37mm variant to fight itself (and still is). [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/fbyhup.jpg[/t]
Hello All! As of recent I have had the tragedy of losing all of my work and tanks. Decided to load this thing up with anti-everything ordinance for shits and gigs. So far, there are 4 30mm HMGs, two pairs of FIM-92 SAMs for air to air use, two 100kg bomb racks, and a pair of ATAKA ATGMs to top it all off. I've spent far too long working on this already, and after seeing some of the other cars in this thread, I have a lot more work to do :) Series III Land Rover Lightweight hard top. 2.25l straight 4 (thruster engine), 4 speed manual, high/low range, transfer case with no gearbox differential. All axles are open diff'ed with no lockers (man up). [t]http://imgur.com/ZWVwM4C.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.johnbrown4x4.com/uploads/images/ctf1_2.JPG[/t] <- (couldn't find a hard top picture) [t]http://imgur.com/o0PUgmV.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/ij29jSj.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/sdc7a63.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/Ur4F4UR.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/xPqZr0S.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/fcYm1t5.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/zTGpV3R.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/PJDydb9.jpg[/t] Building one in real life has helped quite a bit with the fine details. Some small things I'd like to fix are the headlight size and the rounded corners on the bumper and engine. I'd like to model the chassis and dash board properly some day, but I'm far more concerned about how it drives than how it looks. The wheels move and rotate relative to the axles and not the body (as I have seen everywhere else). I have a custom propulsion script which handles the gears and transfer, as well as simulating engine feedback allowing for engine braking, hill starts and stalling. The prop shafts, leaves, levers and fan all move too. Here's a little demo of the engine braking... [t]http://imgur.com/O1Beeeg.gif[/t] I'm at 342 props at the moment and I'm only getting about 20-25fps (my computer is no potato haha), so I was wondering does anyone have tips for improving the performance? I have a feeling my parenting technique is to blame (and how I prepare the child props) I've started working on a 101' but I don't have the time to finish it now. My plan was to do the general body then all 4 configurations (ambulance, general service, radio body and vampire) [t]http://i.imgur.com/z01lLLw.jpg[/t]

That just spawns an inverted version of your model to make the inside look like the inside. It effectively doubles the prop count if every prop is clipped. I had an Integra that was 600 props (dont ask why because i dont know either) but since i had the option turned on it was lagging people like a car with closer to 1200 props
The parent settings I check that seem to be the best for me are: Nocollide Disable Collisions Set Weight (only check this for parenting detail or you armor things after you parent) Disable Shadows Parented props should only effect your fps and not server performance anyway.

That's not a big deal.
Damn, that could be it! Would I have to re-visclip everything if that setting was on?
Yeah, unfortunately you do. It's tedious but it pays off.
