T-90A update. KORD is put in place, skirts, fenders, engine deck, rear detail.
How many props and holos is that?
264 holograms, 241 props. I get 70 fps looking at it on high and servers combust with 3 tanks on them anyway. I don't really need to justify the numbers.
If your server is dying with only 3 tanks out, either you can't build or the server is running off a toaster.
It's artwork by the way.
Thing is you can still do detailed artwork without getting into microscopic details nobody is going to bother on finding on your contraptions (or that dont even matter at all).
I mean you still gotta respect that attention to detail. The fact that he captures almost every little bit of the tank is batshit insane and honestly kinda cool. It's a lot for your eyes to take in and process, which is a change from most tanks.
soon (ft. never)
There is certainly a lot to be said about going overboard with "who cares" amounts of detail and how just throwing props at something turns people into lazy builders. The "my personal fps doesn't suffer so I don't have to care on a multiplayer game" attitude is bullshit too.
It's also somewhat unfortunate that tanks are the most popular thing to build considering how much Source hates rotating props hitting a surface, that's where the bulk of lag comes from.
chieftain which is sadly about 3/4 scale because what is measuring
So as some of you might know, Red made a bulldozer e2 that is pretty nifty. I wanted to make something to go with it, so behold my late 1930's tractor/bulldozer thingy. (Warning, bit of a dump)
Powered by tiny I3 diesel (with med I4 model over it), scoots around and can climb fairly well. The fan for the engine is linked to the transmission, so it spins as well.
Stats: 168 props (Went a bit overboard, sorry!), 53hp I3 diesel, 2 speed, ~15mph top speed
What does that bulldozer e2 exsactly do?
it spawns a rock that you "construct" as fortification. when you spawn the rock it'll be in the ground, and as you hit the rock with the dozer blade the rock elevates over ground. it's pretty cool.
Can anybody post a video of this? Seems interesting.
I feel like this still belongs here because of the GMod tradition that has now evolved into something new - still featuring our own community's KrypteK on the piano and on synthesizer (and on the radio!)

Old and unfinished vehicles made between 2012-2017. Bonus coin to the first person who can list all the vehicles
still a little bit too early.
You are definitely on the right track! The 6 wheeler is a Ford GPA (but same type of vehicle) and the unfinished bumper from 2014 is a Jag. Try seeing if you can get the rest
wait what, that bumper still from that state since 2014?
It most definitely is. The entire post I made just consists of partly finished vehicles I've made since 2012 and all the way up until 2017.
If I were to post a Christmas/New Years themed driving event with minimal rules on what you can enter as a for-fun kind of thing, would any of you guys be interested in actually participating? I was thinking of something where you can enter practically anything, with ridiculous/unusual/holiday-themed vehicles being encouraged as a way to have fun with it. Maybe the participants could be judged on "most unique vehicle"?
Of course this is all just an idea, I won't be posting anything if nobody shows any interest in/dislikes an event like this.
not only christmas but halloween and some others events too.

For those of you who wanted to see what Red's Bulldozer chip actually does, and to briefly show my Bulldozer:
If you cant make a fin plane you cant make a real plane.
Well unfortunately, its harder to standardize fin planes over a chip. Plus, theres no need to exclude people just because they dont know fin.
The anything goes idea is way more interesting imo.
Christmas themed whacky races rally sounds great (who cares if the vehicles aren’t fast, they gotta be WHACKY!) Keeping with that theme, could I enter some crazy flying car with foldout wings?
P.S. only before Christmas would work for me.
However it's cheaty to use an e2 plane and not really that hard to make a fin plane that hits 120 mph flat. the secret is no drag.
Regarding planes, my stance is that people would actually make more fin planes if there was proper documentation/tutorials posted for making realistically performing ones, along with maybe a set of easy to set up and public for everyone to use plane control E2s. I know there is a few tutorials out there already, but many of them are outdated or using old techniques that may work well for slower, simpler planes, but not at all for anything that would come close to meeting the performance standards of some of the more "enlightened" fin users out there.
Regarding the race, guess I'll be posting something either later today or tomorrow since it seems like people may actually enjoy it!
