Bend her legs a little and mover her spine down slightly, she still looks like she's in a T pose. Maybe have her head look at something to her right or upwards. Also be careful with the lighting because the characters on the left are barely visible.
I'll give that a try. Also, I'm testing something else out. This has the kids scaled correctly(ish?) to Ellie's model, but I think that makes them look TOO small for the scene. Or does it? Ellie's model has the proportions of a 14ish year old, right? But the starchild's model is somewhere around 9. So when I scaled him up to be around Ellie's same "age" (up to her shoulders) his head and arms ended up a lot thicker than hers. But because they're seperated in the scene I don't think it was that noticeable? Now he's scaled up to her midriff and looks properly proportioned, but again, I think is swallowed up by the scene. Scaled Clem down a bit to be halfway between the two but otherwise haven't changed her yet.
It is better. I do think that whatever her pose is just try to make it look like she is somewhat engaged in the scene unless she is just discovering them or something. I don't actually know whats taking place in the scene so its hard to say what she should be doing. Proportion wise I personally think they look ok.
I was wondering what else I could add to this image. Placement of props, lighting, other soldiers etc. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110648/24c54d84-12ea-493e-b5be-1c0bb7c40d9d/20180105173707_1.jpg
IMO the trench is too wide and make them guard a corner or something https://i.imgur.com/EWTSnr8.png
Originally I was going to have all of them playing, but now I'm doing it by ear because I think (within the limits of my posing ability) the girl on the left's "playing" pose would just end up looking like an awkward duplicate of one of the other two kid's poses. So now she'll either be looking at the wraith in awe, exploring the woods, or doing this kind of "hey I'm new here" thing which I don't know if it looks ok. https://i.imgur.com/1pQmJFx.jpg
The posing is pretty spot on now, all you need is for the lighting to show what you want it to show
I was originally aiming for a sort of 'contrast-y' look that would also help obscure the fact that these three are known and/or main characters. Narrowed it down to these two options. I like the first, but the second makes the kids more readily visible (and is a little less contrast-y). Don't know which look I should commit to. (I also lowered the branch for the final crop so ignore that.) https://i.imgur.com/ucRff10.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kKrb5Wq.jpg Also, Ellie is in the shadow of the tank, which is why she was so dark before. So I didn't add strong rim/fill lights. I tweaked it a bit in both of the above images because she did seem to be blending in a bit too much. Sorry for posting this one so much, hah, but It's been helpful. Pretty sure I'm nearly done.
Started something new this week on a whim. Is there anything that can be improved so far? https://i.imgur.com/DIZ7AnI.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/9QnBkEW.png Wondering how i can put mountain props into the background to give scale after i'm finished posing
https://i.imgur.com/QSsgOI2.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DRHrTIAVQAAXo-r.jpg I'm trying to recreate the below shot as best as I can get it. Anything I should tweak/edit ingame before moving onto Photoshop? I can't seem to fix Dokkaebi's shoulder pads ingame.
http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/0907061ac929.jpg hi this thread is not dead probably
Trying to scenebuild an airport. Also don't mind the T-posed Clonetrooper and Engineer, they're meant to be a silly background addition somewhere, like an advertisement https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/71604/9b17ea5b-c764-4b51-896b-0272f74bad84/dc26384574cfb4a3a6f4f1eda3ddfeba.jpg
Not sure which direction I should take here before I start fleshing out the details. Any ideas? https://i.imgur.com/vYl3sre.png https://i.imgur.com/1oXlNtp.png https://i.imgur.com/9UM1bdq.png https://i.imgur.com/gCb7jgh.png https://i.imgur.com/cYHyM9s.png https://i.imgur.com/8OyOvQ3.png https://i.imgur.com/y6mYjgD.png https://i.imgur.com/4PxJByT.png Sorry for the image dump.
I liked the fifth one from the bottom, just my opinion.
I hope i'm posting this in the correct thread.. Huge work in progress, set up temporary in game smoke and the lighting set up is temporary as well. C&C please click for full resolution https://img00.deviantart.net/d072/i/2018/075/1/c/poster_18_03_16_09_50_55_by_philrwahby-dc61guq.png
Looks solid - try to apply some heavy DOF on those zombies (and perhaps place another one far closer to the camera) to direct attention to the helicopter, and avoid lighting the scene from the front! Instead have the scene illuminated from the fires in the background (giving everything a nice rim lighting effect and a reflection on the helicopter's metal) as well as the red light. That should make the zombies more into silhouettes. If you do that plus make the smoke thick but varied (a bit like this smoke: https://youtu.be/eT9k7mGze4I?t=20) then the picture would be a delight!
Smoke's too blackish i think. The lighting of the red from inside the plan is boss, lvove it.
hell yeah thank you.
Haven't post anything in ages. still W.I.P with the lighting but i wanna edit it and see what the final image might come out as: http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/dfadd54d5424.jpg
Here's a full bright work in progress of the same scene as before, inspired by The Thing. still heavy WIP KEEP THAT IN MIND <3 https://img00.deviantart.net/c863/i/2018/076/3/7/poster_18_03_17_09_43_02_by_philrwahby-dc64y7x.png

I’m still working on fleshing this out, but I’d like to know how the posing/lighting/etc is looking and/or if there’s something I can do to improve the scene. Been mostly building it around the first image, but was also starting to wonder how the second possible angle looked. https://i.imgur.com/X24wUDM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KDt13TD.jpg
More like, close-to-done W.I.P.
I'm a little in the weeds with overthinking this, so I'd like a second opinion. Which looks better? A https://i.imgur.com/cUqLrWU.png B https://i.imgur.com/AsUZPQS.png The second has a higher global 'bounce/fill' lighting.
this needs a HDR and some bloom to finish. use b if you want the desired results
